Just outside of the main University of Sheffield area of the city on Glossop Road is the Turkish/Mediterranean restaurant Efes Bar and Grill. It’s slap bang in the centre of the city, so it’s ideally situated if you fancy retiring for a delicious meal after work or want to start your night here and head out on the town later.
The team at Efes have made the surroundings complement the food perfectly, as you’ll feel really at home in the bright, vibrant space. There are a variety of table options, so whether you want to head here as a duo for a lingering meal and a chat, or need a sprawling table for a big family meal, this place is perfect. They are also happy to open outside of normal hours for larger tables of 10 or more, so if you want somewhere a little more private then head straight here.
If you want something for lunch, then go for the crispy and satisfying toasted panini; we love the Turkish spicy sausage with cheddar cheese, or go for the crispy and fresh feta and tomato wrap. There’s also a fantastic burger with sliced avocado and mozzarella cheese if you fancy something a little more substantial, served with a fresh side salad and fluffy chips. The main dinner menu is diverse and tasty, so there’s sure to be something for everyone here. Go for the traditional hummus to start, or experiment with the tasty sarma – stuffed vine leaves with rice, tomato and spicy herbs. For your main course, go for the succulent skewers of chicken, lamb, vegetables or a mix of all three to get an exciting Mediterranean experience. Or, if you want something decadent opt for the creamy chicken stroganoff with mushrooms, garlic and herbs in a delicious demi glace sauce. If you can’t choose, we recommend going with a big group and ordering plenty of different things so you can sample everything Efes has to offer!
If you want a great meal in a restaurant with a lively atmosphere, then go straight to Efes Bar and Grill in Sheffield for an array of authentic Turkish and Mediterranean dishes.
