Special evening out - birthday. Food was excellent - service was absolutely appalling! Had to ask for plates cutlery and serviettes. Part of meal ordered was never delivered - had to ask for it to be removed from bill. Staff had to be called over - no-one asked if meal was ok. Main course was cleared and bill was just unceremoniously dumped on table - we were not even asked if we wanted desserts/coffee!

Had a good night at East! The food is high quality and the portions are large so you get your money's worth!

Starters were too spicy, even the one we asked for to be mild. Reservation was not made according to east but we got in with no problem. Main courses was good but could have done with bigger portions.

Just too noisy. Could not talk as there was a lot of noise.

Really enjoyed the meal again - Excellent! We'll be back!

They really now how to cook at East. Had a really excellent, lovely meal for 2 to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday and we couldn't stop saying how delicious the food was!

And then there's the service. Your waiters are brilliant. We'll be back for more!

We say…

Situated in Pudsey, roughly an equal distance from Leeds and Bradford, you will find the multi-award winning East Bar, Lounge and Grill. This venue has burst on to the scene and been met with an enviable level of success and after picking up the award for ‘Best Starter’, ‘Best Mains Course’, and ‘Best Restaurant’ at the Leeds Curry Awards in 2009 and voted ‘Best Indian Restaurant’ at the Oliver Food Awards in 2010, the accolades having been coming thick and fast ever since.

The Yorkshire Evening Post stated that East would not look out of place in New York or Los Angeles, and they are right. Every detail, right down to the way the cutlery is laid, has success written all over it. The team at East have managed to create a highly contemporary venue that still has strong connections to its cultural heritage; super-slick black leather chairs are offset by subtle patterned wallpaper and pops of vibrant orange and terracotta lift the venue to a whole other dimension. Cream booths, that are ideal for tables looking for a little intimacy, are separated by space age dividers and given an East twist with delicately tiled walls. Three stylish bars, including the Velvet Lounge and an al fresco roof terrace for summer months, give the venue great flexibility and ensure that guests will enjoy a dining experience like no other.

Quality is paramount at East and they ensure that their gourmet Indian cuisine is created and prepared using only the highest quality ingredients by highly skilled and passionate chefs. The menu that has won them so many awards is a real treat and will delight diners from start to finish. With classic dishes such as Korma, Dopiaza and Madras available, all of which are above and beyond any you’ve ever tried before East will keep even the fussiest diner happy. The real gems are the specialities such as Naseer e Khaas of chicken tikka and lamb mince cooked in brandy with onions, tomatoes, capsicum and plenty of herbs and spices and Papa Sea Bass marinated in masala sauce with cumin, fenugreek, ginger and a twist of lime, chargrilled to perfection.

With a selection of excellent set menu options, lunch menus and specially crafted children’s menus, there is something for the whole family at East. So if you are looking for a show-stopping Indian meal, look no further than East Indian restaurant in Pudsey.
