Any Nottingham-dwelling foodie will be well acquainted with Delilah Fine Foods. Situated in beautiful old building a couple of hundred metres from both Old Market Square and the trendy Hockley, this city centre deli-restaurant is a treat for a leisurely breakfast, coffee and cake with friends or a delicious early dinner.
Founded in 2005 by Indian-born, Welsh-raised Sangita Tryner, the interior of Delilah is almost as beautiful as the food! With huge windows flooding the place in natural light, visitors walk directly into the deli on the ground floor. Packed full of delicacies, it's hard to resist making a purchase then and there! At the back of the deli is the bar area, where guests can enjoy a relaxing glass of wine from the current selection or one of the delicious cakes on display. Upstairs on the mezzanine level there are more tables and chairs where diners can sample one of the extraordinary options from the menu and while away the time.
As you would expect, all the ingredient used in the food served are fresh from the deli, making for a quality feast of flavours. Why not start the day with the delicious French Toast with a drizzle of maple syrup and crispy Italian pancetta, or Delilah's answer to the Full English, the Gourmet Breakfast? Alternatively, if you're coming a little later, tuck into a scrumptious flatbread pizza or share a luxurious charcuterie platter. The utterly irresistible patisserie options include the salt caramel, chocolate and rosemary tart, the blueberry and lemon loaf with butter and the stout layer cake. Indisputably worth the calories!
