We say…

Situated on the bustling Rounday Road, not far from the centre of Leeds, is Darvish, a family run restaurant which was established in 2005. Darvish prides itself on offering authentic Persian cuisine, full of flavour and expertly cooked. They are loved locally and known particularly well for their excellent and attentive service. The restaurant has received outstanding reviews across national press, and appeared as a feature restaurant in Jamie Oliver’s show Jamie’s Great Britain.

The restaurant is full of authentic Persian décor, charming artworks, wooden furniture and colourful patterned tablecloths in traditional Persian styles. It is spacious and full of character, placing a focus on genuine Persian culture, encouraging an authentic and exotic dining experience in a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Feel free to take along your own wine for an evening tailored exactly to your tastes,  or choose from one of the restaurants’ soft drinks, Persian teas, fresh juices or traditional Doogh – a tasty drink of yoghurt mixed with sparkling water and dried mint.

The menu is full of stunning Persian meals, including kebabs and Khoresht dishes. There are many vegetarian options too, and everything on the menu is expertly cooked and beautifully presented by the restaurants’ expert and experienced chefs. Try the succulent Kebab Chenjeh, a skewer of marinated tender lamb fillet, mixed green peppers and onions, served with grilled tomatoes and a naan bread or saffron rice. For something steeped in tradition, try the Deezi Makhsoos Darvish, a traditional Perisan stew made with lamb, chickpeas, navy beans, potatoes, onions, tomato puree and a whole dried lime in a spiced stock, served with freshly baked naan bread. Vegetarians can expect a flavoursome dish such as the Chello Khoresht Ghaymeh Bademjan, a dish of fried aubergine in a tomato sauce made with a blend of Persian spices, yellow peas and mushrooms. Finish your meal with a one of many traditional Persian desserts, or indulge in a generous slice of carrot cake or chocolate fudge cake.

A restaurant with a focus on excellent and authentic Persian cuisine, Darvish, Leeds is a well-loved restaurant with a fantastic reputation.
