Nice night out before the theatre.

Attentive service and great quality food I had the garlic mushrooms and fish and chips which were delicious.

Enjoyed our visit. Staff very efficient and friendly, food good and
we didn't have to wait too long for it to arrive. Very nice table, position right by the window, so a view onto Tudor Square, which looked very pretty with the Crucible and Lyceum lit up. A good start to our visit to the evening's performance at the Lyceum!

As always the meal was delicious. We had the fish and chips followed by creme brulee. Both were really lovely and not a bit was left on the plate! The waiter was attentive and friendly (as always). We always come here pre-theatre and always have a great meal!

Very nice, lots of fat chips.

    Good service.

Excellent food and really good service. Thanks.

Excellent as always and Great Service. Thanks

Lovely evening before we went to the theatre. I will definitely go again.

Professional staff and good food, very enjoyable lunch prior to our theatre visit.

As always my friend and I had a great lunch with outstanding food prepared by the chef Dan. The service was of its usual high standard so all in all Crucible Corner delivered as usual.

Only 2 veggie options on the menu, we had both between us. Risotto lacked flavour as did the pie (basically boiled veg with loads of cranberry sauce, tiny amount of blue cheese and some puff pastry on top). Mash tasted reheated. Mushy peas were fine though and plenty of gravy! The staff were nice and the service good. Shame food wasn’t better as a nice place.

    Very pleasant.

Great service and lovely food. Nice environment.

The waitress was very rude and rushed us throughout - obviously the table was needed!!!!
The desert was sent back. The cheesecake was more like a mousse - was warm with still frozen strawberries on top!!!!
This restaurant has really deteriorated and will not be visited again.

As always lovely food, service, and atmosphere.

Booked a pre-theatre table for 12 noon. I arrived just after the restaurant opened. We were seated and given an A4 sheet of paper that was the Christmas menu. The paper menu was dog eared and didn't give a very good first impression of what turned out to be a terrible meal. The mains had several options. However, when we came to order we were told that the fish options, a third of the choose, were off the menu as they had been too busy. I ordered the burger. For the rest of our group two ordered braised beef and the other ordered chicken. Starters - The pate' came with one small rock hard, toasted piece of a french loaf, no butter. The small leak pie was burnt all around the edges. When the main arrived my burger had onions that were burnt and the burger was like it had been cooked and reheated. The coleslaw on the plate was dry all the way around it as if it had been on there for hours.
The two beef dishes had potatoes under the beef that were stone cold and the beef was like leather to cut through.
We have eaten here several times before when going to the theatre and the food has been reasonable, but on this occasion, it spoilt the day.
We paid a lot of money to see a good show "Guys & Dolls" - brilliant. Your restaurant is letting you down Crucible.

Lovely food prompt service great atmosphere.

Took 2 hours for 2 courses. When it came it was ok.
We were booked for 5 pm and were going to the theatre for 7 pm performance.
No time for dessert and coffee which spoilt the whole thing for me.
I will try somewhere else next time.

Roast Hake excellent, service pleasant but slow.

Food and service good well placed for pre-theatre meal.

As always great service and delicious food.

Mains and sides were great as always, but desserts were very disappointing on this occasion. Quite obviously thrown together and not worth the 12 quid price tag we paid for 2.
Still gets a 4 from me as the service and beer were as good as always.

    Excellent... as usual!

Our visit was disappointing as a lot of the items on the menu were unavailable as they had had a busy time during the week!! Surely a busy restaurant should be well-stocked.

The duck was chewy and couldn't get a knife through it. Service nonexistent!! Been a few times and had a good time and good food. This last time not so good.

The food was delicious; some really refreshingly different selections on the menu.
It was a pre-theatre meal on a Friday evening, so very busy, but service was prompt and friendly; none of the frenetic worrying about getting through in time. A very pleasurable experience.

Great Burger and Good Service as always. I really enjoyed it.

Limited menu due to theatre closure this time, but both burger and dessert were great as usual.

Really enjoyable experience. Good food, pleasant ambiance, we didn't feel rushed. Will definitely book again.

The staff are so lovely & welcoming - unfortunately, we both ordered steaks & they were both overdone - they replaced my husbands but the replacement was also overcooked.

Excellent Food and service as always...Will definitely be returning.

Fantastic Steak as always, really enjoyed the experience and will return.

Excellent as always and will return.

Excellent steak again cooked to perfection. Desserts are a little overpriced for amount you get, but are equally delicious. Staff are always welcoming and service is excellent as usual. A good night overall.

Good food and well served with a smile.

Easy to book, good food, wine a little pricey. Very convenient for the theatre. Our table was very close to the next one which I don’t like. Staff very pleasant.
Good choice on the menu. Would definitely revisit.

    Good food and friendly staff.

Really welcoming and flexible. It needs more choice of decent wines not the cheap stuff. Good choice for vegetarians for a change. Pleasant staff and prompt service

As always perfect food and surroundings, very pleasant dining experience.

Good food and attentive staff. Was a but expensive but the premises was clean.

Excellent as always. Steak was cooked perfect and the Lime posset is to die for. Will definitely book again soon.

I had a lovely lunch with my Mother before going to the theatre, the quality of the food was very good, mum said her garlic and mushroom soup was beautiful as was the rest of the meal . It was good value, I had read the menu online which was different to the menu we were given on the day, not that we were disappointed but please update so they are both same.

Mid-range price and menu good quality and excellent friendly service. Will definitely go again.

Couldn't have chosen better will definitely return!

Great food, good value for money.

Excellent food, very sufficient portions with good service. Would certainly go back again.

Great food and service only slightly marred by loud live music performed by students.

Sadly, my friend and I were unimpressed. It is a place I have always been happy to drink and dine alone in and I have introduced several people to this place in the past. Unfortunately I felt rather let down. Staff were lovely but it took ages for our meals to arrive. We were both disappointed with our food. My vegan burger was not very tasty, there was tomato within the salad in the bun, which I dislike intensely and wasn't listed on the menu. My friend was similarly unimpressed with her lunch. Sadly, we will not be dining there again.

The food was of a high standard and service was done with a smile.

    Excellent, thoroughly recommended

Nice meal and staff. Our table was a bit squashed in next to the window and between two pillars and we had difficulty sitting down and getting out of our seats. We did pre-book our table so surprised and a little disappointed. Overall good experience will go again hopefully with a little more room next time.

The menu is small, but with a good variety from which to choose.

The food and service were good.
The lower score on ambience was mainly due to a very loud diner.

Service was great and food good. The only gripe was that we ordered adults and child fish and chips which were the same size. There was enough for the adult but it seemed a little unfair to pay double for what essentially was the same size as the child’s.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal 5 stars all the way

We were pleased to be returning to the Crucible Corner once again. As always the service was spot-on, they looked after us so well - and they were very busy. The food was as always great.Looking forward to a return visit.

Had a great time. Food superb and staff brilliant.

We were somewhat dismayed on arrival to see that the menu had changed as we had been looking forward to our usual steak sandwich. However when our food arrived, we were not disappointed! Chosen from the tapas menu, our pork belly squares, salted squid and chips were excellent! No complaints.

I love The Crucible Corner, never disappoints me

The food was lovely but we were disappointed with the menu. We expected a bigger variety.

My husband is a wheelchair user and the Crucible corner is 100 percent disabled friendly. The waiter noticed my husband had adapted cutlery and quietly took it away cleaned it and returned it. A thoughtful touch much appreciated. We had tapas which was outstanding. A fantastic experience.

Our table for 9 followed on from an afternoon theatre visit. There were several orders and fish and chips replaced the seared tuna which was off the menu. The service was fine, if a little slow, but we enjoyed the food on the whole. Some of the twice fried chips were a bit soggy and hard on the inside but on the whole everyone enjoyed their meals and the experience. Also it’s is very convenient after a theatre performance.

The front staff worked very hard but a 40-minute wait for the main course in a pre-theatre meal was unacceptable.
There was a big run on the bar for outside drinks, perhaps the kitchen was told to hold things up to enable the crush to be dealt with?

Although we were really late due to our train, the staff made us feel very welcome and ensured we ate in time for the play. Good value, tasty food.

Super fish and chips, courteous and friendly service, always good value. Love this place.

Super food with good choices in a delightful restaurant. Attentive, efficient and courteous service.

Really enjoyed my mealing. Three courses with drinks for less than £25. Good value! Good choice of meals & very attentive staff.

    Good food. Slow service.

the food was well cooked and tasty but slightly slow service. My friend had the goats cheese and asked for it without the beetroot and got it just like that, it would have been nice with a bit of garnish instead.

On a very busy Saturday the service was maintained at its usual high standard. Always friendly and efficient, with super food at a good price. We will keep returning.

Always friendly, kind and efficient service. My salmon was cooked perfectly with crispy skin and well balanced accompaniments. A most enjoyable meal at a good price.

Friendly welcoming atmosphere. Food very good.

    Great as usual.

    Best Fish & chips ever.

First visit good service drinks and food was excellent we had whitebait then possibly best and fish and chips ever. My wife really enjoyed her speciality gin. We will be going back as so handy for the theatre mark & Karen Derby.

Excellent service, which was friendly and always on time but never obtrusive. The menu is not extensive but covers all the bases. Similar to a gastropub. The food was well presented and cooked well. We enjoyed it. We’ll be back.

From start to finish we had a wonderful time.

    Really enjoyed it.

An excellent meal in pleasant surroundings. Staff very welcoming and pleasant

Booked late at was excellent..wife said "Best fish & chips.." she had had in a long sea bream was superb with garlic prawns and veg...the maître 'd' was great.

We had a very good meal in a nice relaxing atmosphere. The staff were polite and friendly. I would recommend this restaurant.

A nice, relaxed lunch venue. Made welcome and food tasty.

Excellent service but atmosphere spolit by the large number of tables crammed into the dining area. There used to be more space between the tables. Otherwise the meal made a good start to the evening at the theatre.

All lovely. Nicely cooked, piping hot, lovely staff.

Very good food, service was great!

A range of light bites to share made the meal relaxed and enjoyable!

Fantastic, the staff couldn't have been nicer. Food superb, will definitely be going again!

Good service very busy. Allow plenty of time to enjoy your meal.

    Surprisingly good meal

My main course was a Salmon and Prawn dish cooked in a bag. But when it arrived it was wrapped in paper and overcooked. Not served as described at all. Didn't spoil the evening though.

Excellent food served with a friendly smile and staff who went the extra mile. If you need speedy service before an event we can recommend the Crucible Corner - and you will enjoy really delicious food too! The brisket absolutely melted in the mouth.

Really good meal. Service prompt and staff very friendly.

We arrived at 12.35pm and were eventually served our first course at 1.15 pm after asking because we were going to the theatre.
Portions were minimal/quality just under average. Cost for 2 two course meals:- £35.00

The meal was wonderful and the service excellent.

Excellent service, food and environment at The Crucible Corner. I dined with my 85yr old mum (wheelchair user) and 18yr old nieces - good menu choices and all staff very attentive and kind.
Will eat here again and recommend to friends!
