First visit ever and Went for pre New Years Eve meal -they were on a reduced menu due to date and also as they due to close for two weeks refurb from 1st, which we found out on arrival. The main let down from our meal order was the starter- mushrooms in cheese sauce was very watery with very bland taste. Mains were halloumi burger meal, which was tasty except onion rings were cold and a veggie curry with chips instead of rice -whilst curry was tasty, it was quite a small portion for an adult. Loved the actual location and feel of the place (even before their refurb) but the sound system of music playing let it down - very tinny sound with no depth/bass. So hopefully they will address this. Enjoyed music selection though. Service also let them down - went to bar to re-order some drinks and I was only the one stood there. Three staff were at coffee machine discussing a problem- I waited patiently to let them finish and at least two of them looked at me. Then they finished their discussion, two left and at same time a guy came to bar who the third staff member then served ahead of me. Even after serving him he began to walk away and I had to ask him to serve me. Service up to then had been good. I would still try this place again to see how it has changed after the refurbishment and to experience it a second time for comparison.

We say…

Fantastic tastes of Britain, succulent burgers and delicious ales, all at Nottingham's cosy and stylishly rustic Crafty Crow.

The Crafty Crow is certainly easy to find: Nottingham's famous Robin Hood statue outside the castle points right at it! Situated on Friar Lane, The Crafty Crow specialises in combining beverages from independent brewers, distillers and vintners with fantastic food.

For starters, favourites include the fresh whitebait served with garlic and paprika mayo and the crispy brie wedge served with cranberry sauce & dressed mixed leaves. Meatball marinara, red Thai curry and Cajun chicken all come highly praised for the main course, however, you really have got to try a handmade burger - all of which are served with your favourite fillings in a toasted brioche bun with a side of homemade slaw, beer battered onion rings & your choice of chips or salad.

With large windows, wooden furnishings and low hanging bulbs that create an amber glow in the evenings, the venue is stylishly rustic. Add to the mix comfy armchairs and a mismatch of stools and The Crafty Crow becomes a charming, quirky venue to settle down in for a drink or pub-style meal.

Though the venue is a Magpie Brewery tap house, when it comes to food, the restaurant opts for honest, great-tasting food that is nevertheless beautifully presented: farmed and sourced locally to ensure fresh tastes and guilt-free dining.

A children's menu and a beer and food pairing menu on offer, there's something for everyone at The Crafty Crow.

In proximity to Nottingham's sights but on a quieter road itself, it's a great place to bring the whole family.
