We say…

Situated just South of Stamford in idyllic countryside surroundings is The Collyweston Slater, a traditional public house and restaurant. It may look out of the way but it is under a ten minute drive from Stamford rail station, offering guests countryside peace and quiet without being isolated.

The Collyweston is a traditional coaching inn that dates back to the 17th century, it is a venue steeped in history that has been a focal point of Collyweston for centuries. A huge renovation project was launched on the building in 2006 which transformed it, creating a light and airy atmosphere whilst retaining its original features such as the oak beams and slate roof. The dining room features exposed stone walls, comfortable arm chairs and a wood burning stove. It is cosy, quaint and incredibly tasteful with a neutral palette that allows the buildings features to stand out.

The restaurant became under new management in 2009 and has been serving quality British cuisine using local produce ever since. The menu is packed with classics such as the Chef’s Pate of the Day served with toast and salad, homemade Steak and Ale pie filled to the brim and surrounded with a melt in the mouth short crust pastry with potatoes, vegetables and gravy, and home cooked ham with egg and chips.

The atmosphere at the Collyweston Slater restaurant in Lincolnshire is cosy, warm and welcoming and is a real treat for those who want to relax and dine at their pleasure. You will not be rushed and will probably find yourself spending hours sat in the lounge mulling over the world and taking things easy.
