We say…

Situation right near Ashbourne Golf Club is Coach and Horses, a welcoming and comfortable coaching inn with the food and ales coming in for particular praise. Coach and Horses is in a fantastic location if you want to meet up with friends for a meal, perfect for anyone living locally or relying on public transport.

The Coach and Horses was renovated in 2013 to ensure it appeals to everyone from the beer lovers to shoppers who want to treat themselves to a spot of afternoon tea. The rustic interior has all the trappings you would expect of a country pub, from roaring log fires to exposed brick hearths and flagstone floors. There is also a new-look outdoor patio area, with specially created booths to seat small parties or groups. Overall, the design inside is intended to create an open feel alongside traditional elements. At the heart, Coach and Horses is a long-established, local pub with a large emphasis on quality service.

Coach and Horses serves simple, but inspirational food, using producers that they know and trust from around the Midlands and using traditional family recipes. The menu has a variety of dishes to choose from such as Homemade Chicken Liver Pâté for starters; slow-cooked pork belly or Nicoise salad for mains with some coffee and cake to round off the meal. Some of the afternoon tea recipes have been passed down through the generations. Children are also well catered for here as well as they too could be sampling Meatball Linguine or Cheese and Tomato Flatbread Pizza slices.

The Coach and Horses in Ashbourne manages to combine the homeliness of a pub alongside high-quality dining. Most importantly, they create a friendly and welcoming environment.
