We say…

Under a 10 minute walk from Sheffield’s vibrant city centre, Butler’s Balti House is close to the University of Sheffield and surrounded by places worth visiting. Visit after a day of shopping in the city or bring along your friends, perfect for students who want to escape the typical student pubs.  Close to Jessop’s Hospital, it’s easy to find and hugely convenient, with plenty of parking.

The restaurant’s recent renovation creates a warming yet contemporary environment. From the outside, a glowing sign draws attention to the modern and inviting building. Once inside, bright lighting keeps this place lively and cushioned seating ensures diners are comfortable. Purple walls with black panels add a contemporary edge and spaced out tables ensure plenty of privacy. If you’re celebrating, a private party area can be hired, with a private bar and large projector that’s perfect for birthdays and conferences alike.

The food served here focuses on traditional Indian baltis, cooked in cast iron pots said to enhance the flavour of the dish. Meals begin with a choice of vegetable, meat and seafood starters, with enough choice for anyone to be happy. Order an indulgent lamb stuffed pepper topped with tempting melted cheese or try the Paneer Tikka for a vegetarian twist on a Tandoori classic. Follow with one of the many mixed balti dishes, from chicken and prawn to Balti Keema and Aloo, a mix of mincemeat and potato. If you don’t fancy sampling one of their popular baltis, order from the classic section of the menu, offering traditional curries including Korma, Bhuna and Pathia dishes. A chef’s specials section highlights interesting favourites for anyone who wants to sample something out of the ordinary. Traditional meats cooked in a Tandoori oven are a perfect addition if you’re after something authentic and low fat, with only natural ingredients and no oil. If you’re looking for something light, are after a traditional curry or want to sample a unique balti, this restaurant is perfect for you.

Whether you’re eating with friends of colleagues, Bulter’s Balti House in Sheffield is a pleasant location for a celebratory meal. The wide choice of options and ability to cater for larger groups makes this an excellent choice if you’re looking for somewhere to gather and enjoy fantastic food with friends and family.
