Lovely traditional atmosphere and food. I have visited the Butcher and Beast many times with family and friends and everyone I bring just loves it! I can't think of anywhere else I'd go to enjoy hearty homecooked food and a quality gin. Try the steak and ale pie - it's delicious!

We say…

Sitting proudly in the pictorial village of Heighington in Lincolnshire, is the Butcher and Beast; a pub and restaurant that serves up hearty British cuisine in a welcoming environment. As part of the Bateman's Brewery of Wainfleet, Butcher and Beast knows how to perfectly balance the refinement of a restaurant with the warmth and tradition of a local pub.

The venue has been carefully and thoughtfully revamped by its owners Mal and Diane Gray. The renovation’s main focus was on guest comfort and convenience with the addition of cosy seating, fixed furnishings and a more spacious design. Though Butcher and Beast has modernised, the traditional style of the establishment has by no means been forgotten. Listed in the Good Beer Guide 2011,2012, & 2013 and also the Good Pub Guide 2013 the pub prides itself on creating a warm and friendly venue for a plentiful meal or a refreshing pint with the locals.

The menu is updated seasonally and uses only local produce to guarantee maximum freshness. Chefs Diane and Beth know how to please the locals with generous portions of top-quality British food. Favourites include the Steak & Ale Pie, with good chunks of prime beef, slowly cooked in Batemans Beer and topped with a puff pastry lid. The Butcher and Beast has a reputation for serving top quality steaks, from an 8oz Fillet to a 10oz Ribeye, accompanied with all the trimmings and delicious homemade sauces. If you fancy something a little but warmer then why not try one of their stir fries which come to your table sizzling away. Alongside the mains you can expect to find tasty starters, sides and a wonderful children’s menu that makes the Butcher and Beast ideal for family outings.

In the winter you can expect to be greeted by a roaring coal fire and in the summer you can enjoy their lovely beer garden. The regular Monday steak nights are also a hit with the locals, and the Sunday Roast with all the trimmings is a must try.

Easily accessible from Lincoln town centre, the Butcher and Beast has it all. With appetising meals, friendly staff and that inviting pub atmosphere, the restaurant is brilliant for a light lunch, a quiet drink with friends or a delicious family dinner.
