We say…

Not far from Lincoln’s famous and impressive Cathedral, Browns Restaurant and Pie shop is an old local favourite, a family-run establishment serving authentic and rustic English classics with an emphasis on beautifully cooked British pies. In a welcoming and historic building, the restaurant is a beautiful and friendly place to visit, known for excellent customer service and great food.

The restaurant itself is spacious and beautiful, embracing the heritage of the building with a cellar dining space with wooden floors, rustic wooden furniture and exposed stone walls. The upstairs area is bright and attractive, with exposed wooden ceiling beams and a fresh, welcoming atmosphere. The cosy interior is perfect for catching up with friends and for intimate dinners with loved ones, but there is plenty of spacious areas for dining as a group or celebrating that special occasion too.

The wonderfully put together menu is full of British classics and of course has a number of speciality pie options. Choose from a number of great pie fillings, including local wild rabbit pie, casseroled in cider with leaks and flavoured with English elderflower and cream. Vegetarians will love the Great British cheese pie made with a selection of hard and soft cheeses, broccoli florets and a rich cheese sauce. If you don’t fancy pie then there is plenty more to choose from, such as steaks or specials, including braised leg of lamb, served with creamed potato and rosemary jus, or a whole baked rainbow trout stuffed with crayfish and crab. There are plenty of vegetarian options available to please all tastes too, even if you don’t fancy a cheese or vegetable pie. Try the stuffed roast red peppers with lemon cous cous and chargrilled courgette filling, served on sweet pepper coulis, or go for the mushroom and tarragon risotto.

A beautiful restaurant serving great and tasty food in a historical and authentic restaurant, Browns Restaurant and Pie Shop, Lincoln is a firm favourite locally with a loyal customer base and great reviews.
