We say…

The Bottle and Glass in Harby is a wonderful pub and restaurant located 20 minutes west of Lincoln city centre. Sitting on the border between Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, it is easily accessible from the A57 which makes it perfect for travellers as well as locals.

Run by the same owners of Wig and Mitre in Lincoln and Caunton Beck near Newark, this pub instils the same traditional atmosphere of its East Midland siblings. The décor is cosy and inviting with all of the authentic quirks and features you would expect to find in a local tavern. Fixed wooden seating paired with colourful cushions, bay windows and a blazing log fire keeps the entire room warm, pleasant and relaxed. The dining room itself is a little more formal, with a clean and spacious feel.  Outside there is a lovely terrace and a lawn that can take a Marquee for 200 people.

The menu offers diners modern European cuisine using the very best of local produce. Guests can enjoy such dishes as a juicy Lincolnshire steak with Portobello mushroom, confit tomatoes, triple-cooked chips and a selection of dressings; the succulent lemon sole with beurre noisette, grapes and samphire; fresh tagliatelle, wild mushrooms, hazelnuts and truffle emulsion and goosnargh chicken breast vine plum tomatoes, nocellara olives, and basil.

The piece de resistance is the Tapas menu, there are thirty including interesting homemade breads; pork belly with a miso glaze & melon sorbet; whitebait; breaded king prawns; potato bravas; chickpea and chorizo stew; padron peppers; baked cheese soufflé.  Sweets things include creme brulee; catalan creme and affogato.

Aside from the a la carte menu, there is a daily chalk board with fresh, unique creations by the talented chef. For those who are after a delicious breakfast, there is no better pick-me-up than the ‘Harby Fry Up’ which comes in a range of sizes and alternatives, including vegetarian. The child-family venue also offers a separate menu for the kids.

An open kitchen gives access to easy banter with the chefs, Robbie, Tom and Charlotte.

Bottle and Glass in Harby near Lincoln, is a tremendous pub-restaurant that offers fantastic food delivered by friendly staff in a time-honoured environment. There is something for everyone to enjoy and, due to the popularity of this restaurant, booking is highly recommended.
