Take in old-school osteria vibes at Italian revival of much-loved Hockley meeting spot

The former sites of long-time Hockley favourites Edin's and Lee Rosy's have been merged and reinvented as Botti di Mamma; the latest in a string of openings that are slowly transforming Hockley into a hotspot for back to basics, authentic Italian cuisine.

Like its sisters Sexy Mamma Loves Spaghetti and Sexy Mamma Loves Cicchetti, it serves simple, rustic dishes that focus on traditional Italian flavours.

Serving coffee and traditional pastries in the mornings and a variety of pasta, meat, risotto and tapas style dishes into the evenings. The menu changes daily, offering dishes like ravioli ossobuco, squid ink linguini and pork belly with sweet potato puree.

The decor features a homely mix of mismatched wooden tables, olive green paint and exposed brickwork, and a centre-stage oven which is used to rustle up a range of flatbreads as well as wild halibut and Fiorentina steak.

Dotted around the restaurant are miniature wooden barrels filled with wine, cognac, grappa and Negroni that allude to the restaurant's name Botti Di Mamma, meaning Mamma's Barrels.

The pavement seating is the perfect spot to relax on a warm day and take in the hustle and bustle of Broad Street.

Botti Di Mamma is the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed, traditional Italian meal in the heart of Hockley. Escape to the Mediterranean and book your table today.
