The festive menu at the Electric Bar and Restaurant begins with a selection of tempting starters such as tomato and roasted pepper soup with basil pesto, chicken liver parfait with onion marmalade or a classic prawn and crayfish cocktail. For main course you can order traditional roast turkey, with chipolatas, bacon, cranberry and apricot stuffing, duck fat roasties and seasonal vegetables. If you want to save the turkey for Christmas Day then you could opt for roast fillet of salmon with olive oil mash, char-grilled Mediterranean vegetables, and tomato herb sauce. The vegetarian option is beetroot and celeriac fritter with tomato pickle and fresh mint yoghurt. Dessert choices include traditional Christmas pudding with brandy butter and double cream, chocolate truffle torte with satsuma textures or a selection of home-made sorbets and ice cream.
Treat yourself to the Christmas Day menu
The Christmas Day menu comprises 6 courses, starting with celeriac and apple veloute with a poacher cheese bon bon. For starter there is a choice of goat’s cheese mousse with pear and date puree, pickled walnut, celery and pear crisp, or Redhill farm ham hock salad with quails eggs, watercress, apple puree and sweetcorn. Next comes pan seared scallops with pea puree, lemon, crème fraiche, capers and Parma ham crisp. On to main course and you can choose from hand-raised Lincolnshire turkey with all the trimmings or roasted eye of sirloin with garlic mash, wild mushrooms and Madeira jus. The vegetarian option is blue cheese and broccoli tart with wilted rocket, confit tomato and candied shallots. Before dessert of Christmas pudding with brandy butter and rum custard, dark truffle torte or an English cheeseboard there is a refresher of lemon meringue.
