On Thursday the 12th July 2012, The Steamin’ Billy Brewery Company are hosting a charity golf day in support of the Air Ambulance Service that works across Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The DLRAA are based at the East Midlands airport and answer over 1000 calls every year ranging from road traffic collisions to house fires and fallen horse riders to industrial accidents. They serve in excess of 1.4 million people and protect the community from the skies, saving lives that would otherwise be lost. They receive no funding from the Government or the National Lottery, therefore relying entirely on voluntary donations from local companies, organisations and communities. In order for them to continue saving lives, they need public support. There are a number of ways that you can help raise money for the DLRAA ranging from sponsored walks and events and this July The Steamin’ Billy Brewery Company are offering you the chance to do your bit for an incredibly worthy cause.
Steamin’ Billy are the brains behind The Cow and Plough, Time Bar and Restaurant and The Steam Trumpet and on Thursday the 12th July 2012 they are hosting a charity golf day at the Glen Gorse Golf Club in Oadby.
The day will start with a shotgun start at 8:30am and will consist of 18 holes followed by lunch and prize giving at The Cow and Plough. As well as an overall winner, there will be several inter-game prizes for the shot nearest to the pin, second shot nearest the pin, longest drive and the most golf.
The entry fee is £240 per team of four and all profits go straight to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance services. Entry forms are available from your local Steamin’ Billy establishment.
If you are unable to play on the day then you can still make a difference by sponsoring the event. All sponsor donations including promotional items to be given to the players such as golf balls, tees, umbrellas and so on will be recognised publicly both at the prize-giving and on the course.
You can find more details on the Steamin’ Billy website.
