We say…

Just seven miles from Derby city centre and Burton-on-Trent you can find Blenheim House, a 17th Century former farmhouse set in the historic village of Etwall. It was in fact the last working farm in the village. Blenheim House is easily accessible as it is minutes from both the A50 and A38 with easy access to the M1. This is a great place to experience traditional, English hospitality and the wonderful scenery of the Derbyshire countryside.

The public areas are modernised in a contemporary style, although some of the old character remains. This is particularly apparent in the eight en-suite bedrooms all named after former residents of Etwall. The bar and restaurant areas create a relaxing but enjoyable atmosphere, perfect to have a treat with a few of your friends whilst experiencing friendly service.

Blenheim House styles itself as relaxed fine dining and promises to deliver exceptional quality while keeping a warm and sociable feel throughout. The restaurant menu is made up of delicious home cooked dishes and all the produce is sourced locally from around the Midlands area. Overall, the menu is incredibly well executed and offers diners a variety of dishes including Roast Rump of Derbyshire Lamb, Garlic Fondant Potato, Pea Puree, Spring Vegetables and Roasted Onion Jus; Pan Fried Gilthead Bream, New Potatoes, Chorizo Sausage, Courgette and Pea Shoot Salad; and for the vegetarians, tomato and Aubergine Gateau, Sweet and Sour Tomatoes, Rocket and Parmesan Salad, Crispy Onions and Balsamic Reduction. To complement the menu, Blenheim House offers two local cask ales along with an excellent wine menu and other drinks. Do try to leave room for desserts though as the assortment features Iced White Chocolate Parfait and Flapjack with Fresh Berries or Vanilla Crème Brûlée with Strawberry Compote and Honeycomb which will be hard to resist.

Blenheim House will give you a truly exceptional and rustic dining experience. It is in close proximity to the city centre but located in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside which provides a peaceful atmosphere. It is ideally located for residents and visitors alike, no matter what your plans in Derby are.
