excellent food for all three courses
everyone in our group of six was pleased with their meal
(early bird menu - was very good value)

Good location, ok food and service.

Staff very friendly at Blacksmith's Loft, food good, only thing I would say is very limited choice on menu, which may be down to the size of the restaurant.

Food was OK at The Blacksmith's Loft, think they tried to be more unique and fancy than needed. Pepper sauce was very sweet and onion rings were not very flavourful. Other than that the staff were brilliant and the environment is perfect if you wanted a nice quiet place to enjoy some time with family or partner. Service was fast and bar area is super cosy.

The Blacksmith's Loft was good but not as good as the first visit back in the summer. Having said that the steak was still excellent. Would recommend but having set a high standard they need to keep any eye on the details to maintain!

The food was well presented and very tasty at the Blacksmith's Loft!

Was staying in Darby, found them on the internet having never been there before. They were excellent and will go again when we are up that way again. Would recommend you give them try.

Great meal at the Blacksmith's Loft last night, the duck fat deep fried chips are simply magnificent! Chateaubriand was superb as was the beef fillet.
Please though give me a runny poached egg on my hash.
    Thanks

The food was delicious at The Blacksmith's Loft and the service was amazing. I'd definitely come dine again.

A lovely place to eat with excellent service. Would certainly go again!

All good. Cannot fault The Blacksmith's Loft. Service, food and drinks all excellent!

Absolutely wonderful. Thank you for a great anniversary. Be back again!

Last minute early evening booking at the Blacksmith's Loft. Very pleased with ease of booking on Go dine. The service was excellent and lovely meal.

my daughter and I enjoyed the delicious and exceptional value of the Early Evening menu. Everything was lovely, but the duck pastrami starter and beurre noisette ice cream require special mention. Highly recommended.

Had such a wonderful time, even though it was an impromptu visit I’ll be planning another one soon. Great food all really well prepared and tasted as good as it looked. The staff were really polite and helpful. The surroundings were beautiful as well, all in all would definitely recommend it to others.

We say…

The Blacksmith’s Loft is a brand new restaurant, just off Sadler Gate with some of the buildings dating back to the 15th Century, based in the vibrant Cathedral Quarter of Derby. Having been restored to the highest standards the restaurant brings the rich historical atmosphere into the everyday contemporary comforts expected and with such delightful cuisine.

Offering a number of meals from its; Pan roasted lamp rump with rosemary, garlic and anchovy butter, crushed jersey royal potatoes, grilled asparagus, pea volute, pickled beetroot. To their Early Evening menu including such delightful meals from their five spiced pork belly with sweet red cabbage chutney, roast sweet potato, tender stem broccoli and gravy to their Sweetcorn and halloumi rosti with avocado relish, poached egg and hollandaise. With meals like this and many more stunning options beautifully crafted by Andy Ellis and his expert team it won’t be a surprise when your taste buds start to dance.

The Blacksmith’s Loft is very much aware of the importance of speed when planning a night out at the Playhouse or Derby Assembly Rooms; that’s why their Pre-Theatre menu is perfect for those hungry theatre goers. Being keen to support other independent Derby-based businesses,  they source all of their fresh ingredients ensuring their taste is their own. Putting a new spin on classic dishes and mixing fun with nostalgia to create an exciting collection of both British and European inspired dishes. They also provide a fantastic selection of wines and cocktails to compliment any dish.

Whether you’re planning a romantic evening, a family occasion or just eating out it’s hard to go wrong at The Blacksmith’s Loft in Derby City Centre!
