I highly recommend this as one of the nicest restaurants to eat at in Leicester city centre. I have had breakfast and dinner here on several occasions and the food is consistently good. Even got a free coffee with my breakfast. Fantastic start to the day.

We say…

Bistrot Pierre in Leicester was the third member of the rapidly expanding Bistro Pierre family. Located on Millstone Lane in Leicester city centre near Varsity and Firebug, its central location and close proximity to the train station and the popular shopping destinations of Highcross and St Martin’s Square makes it the perfect venue to enjoy a post-shopping meal or as a prelude to an evening out.

Each Bistrot Pierre is slightly different but diners can rest assured that they will receive the same high quality service and fine provincial French cuisine at each branch. Bistrot Pierre Leicester is situated within a building build by a late Victorian wine merchant. Many of the original features still remain including the intricate vines that the merchant carved into the front façade of the building. Today it sports lilac art nouveau wooden mouldings on the exterior. The interior is bright, contemporary and warm with the walls adorned with unique, hand painted murals.

The menu is packed with French classics that will satisfy everyone. Dishes such as Baked Camembert with sourdough toast and plum chutney, the Epaule D’Agneau, a mouth-wateringly tender shoulder of lamb that is slow-roasted overnight and served with a minted pea puree and Roquefort butter and Le Bistro Pierre’s Boeuf Bourguignon of thick slices of braised beef with shallots, red wine, mushrooms and bacon are must-try items. Bistrot Pierre also offer a superb gluten-free menu that goes above and beyond many other restaurants. Rather than removing the sauce from dishes or removing the wafer from your ice cream they have a created a gluten free menu that is unrestrictive. The staff have also been carefully trained to ensure that they minimise gluten-contamination.

In another unique twist, every dish on the menu has a recommended wine underneath it, which allows diners to immerse themselves in the truly French custom of perfectly matching their wines with their dishes.
