Love this place! So friendly and the food is awesome. Love the range of Gins and knowledgeable staff. Fantastic overall experience.

Once again a fabulous meal! Took some friends and they loved the food the ambiance and the drinks range all served with a smile from the efficient staff. Cannot rate this place highly enough!

As per my previous reviews, I and my family have always found the standard of the food at The Beehive excellent, and the service provided by John the landlord and his staff is always friendly and efficient. The varied menu of authentic Thai food and English meals should suit all tastes, with several vegetarian options, and also a vegan menu (ask if you want to eat vegan and don't find a menu on your table). Several starters and desserts are available as well as the many generously portioned main courses, and children are also catered for. If you are dining oriental, you have the option of noodles or different rice accompaniments, so it is advisable to state your preference when your order is taken. The pub is a traditional establishment set in a pleasant location, situated high above Glossop in Old Whitfield. A full range of drinks is available including real ales. It would be advisable to book if you are planning to eat at busy times, and I have always found this quick and easy to do online via the GoDine site. If you have mobility problems you will need to travel by car or taxi, and at busy times you may need to park 100 yards or so up the lane from The Beehive, where residents also park. As a very rough guide, a two-course meal for two with drinks would probably cost in the region of £35, and the cuisine is generally well above the standard of most pub meals.

Lovely as ever! Enjoyed by my whole family! Delicious food, pleasant staff, fantastic range of Gins. Lovely traditional pub atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed!

As always a fantastic meal, excellent service.

Excellent. Was on a short break to Glossop and found this little gem. Will definitely come back.

I and my two adult children always enjoy the food at The Beehive. John, the landlord, and his staff are always friendly, relaxed and attentive in our experience. Additional information on the numerous Thai, vegetarian and vegan dishes is available if you ask, and a good range of English dishes is also offered. When we have visited the quality of the food has been consistently high. Service has always been prompt and efficient, though we usually book around 7pm, when the pub is not normally too busy, so can't comment on the speed of service at peak times. The drinks are reasonably priced and include real ales. The pub itself is in a lovely location on an old lane high up in Whitfield Village, so you will need to be reasonably fit to walk there, or if you travel by car you will probably have a short walk on the level from wherever up the lane you park. There is a small forecourt where customers can sit or stand outside in fine weather, and the interior is cosy and old fashioned. You can view the menus and book your table online, and booking through Godine they send you an email confirmation of your booking.

We love our trips to The Beehive. Fab food and great atmosphere. It's our favourite.

A cosy pub/restaurant. Steep 15 minute uphill walk from Glossop Town centre but well worth the effort. Friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. We chose Thai food and were very impressed with both quantity and quality. Very good value for money too. If visiting Glossop then give the Beehive a try.

    Very tasty food.

A really lovely family meal together. Good service and food in a pleasant environment. Will definitely visit again.

Great food and atmosphere. Relaxed but attentive. Awesome selection of malts.

Enjoyable evening accompanied by delicious food and good service. Thank you!

Brilliant as always -the Beehive never disappoints.

All had different meals from the Thai menu. The cod thai curry was delicious - the sauce was spicy but flavoursome rather than over hot - and the piece of cod was nicely cooked. The other meals were equally enjoyed.

My girlfriend and I had a reservation for 19:00, ended up arriving 15 minutes late. Our table was still reserved, which was nice. We ordered some drinks on arrival, and food not long after. The food arrived promptly, and after a small mix up of our rice being on each other plates (easy fix that didn't bother us) we enjoyed our food. The staff were super friendly while we were there! Would go again in the future!

I and my two adult children visit the Beehive now and again to enjoy a family meal together. My son and daughter had a real problem; which of the delightful choice of Thai starters, appetisers and mains to choose. The landlord John was again his usual attentive and friendly self, and the quality of John's wife's Thai food has always been excellent in our experience. If you need to know more about the dishes, we have always found John and his staff very helpful. Very good quality English dishes are also available, and vegetarians and vegans are also well catered for. The food has always arrived promptly when we have visited, and is hot and well presented. The pub is cosy and old fashioned, and in a delightful situation in Old Whitfield, which overlooks the valley. All round, highly recommended.

Delicious food freshly cooked really enjoyed it and would recommend it

Tasty food, lovely home comforts or a little adventure to the Thai side

The pub could do with updating - it looks very old fashioned in a dull way but the food and the choice of gins and whiskies was very good with large helpings. Good value for money but the ambience is a bit dull. Very friendly staff and quick service.

    Lovely meal, thanks.

Always have great food and service in the Beehive and a good selection on the menu.

Excellent all round, good food, good value and prompt, efficient service.

Great food and a lovely cosy pub. Friendly staff and prompt service.

Lovely food and friendly staff. Definitely, recommend.

Beautiful food as always. Very friendly staff.Thoroughly enjoyed!

Beautiful food with a warm welcome. Everything including our drinks was served on point. Couldnt fault a thing. Highly recommended.

Good sized portions and tasty food.

    Very welcoming and attentive staff!
They were great with gluten free options and vegetarian!
Good value, tasty food and excellent gin cocktails!
We will definitely be visiting again soon!

Excellent meal. Great service. The staff were very friendly and the landlord came over for a chat. The Thai food was delicious, generous portions. Altogether a good night. Will definitely go again. The gin bar is a bonus,!

Lovely food and always something different you can go for. Never been disappointed with the food

Love coming to the Beehive for a meal, 8 of us booked in last night and the food was top drawer as per every visit we've had. Highly recommended A***

Very good range of meals, all 8 of us had excellent meals, cooked to perfection. The Thai food had lovely flavours the whole family were happy and comfortable.

Relaxed pub atmosphere at the Beehive in Glossop, we had to go back to the bar area to order a dessert, but some customers will prefer being able to take their meal at their own pace. The vegetarian Thai mains were excellent, with the vegetables and noodles being cooked to perfection in delicious sauces. Portions also very generous, and served in deep bowls which kept the food hot. Very good value for money. Two veggie mains and two desserts came to £23.40. On this experience, highly recommended.

Our first visit and would highly recommend the Beehive. The service was great and the food was even better than expected. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in Glossop.

It was our first visit to The Beehive and it will not be our last. A friendly atmosphere, excellent service and attention to detail. Our food was lovely, our evening at The Beehive was very enjoyable.

We say…

The Beehive is a unique pub and restaurant located on Hague Street in the historic town of Glossop in northern Derbyshire. Just minutes away from the Peak District National Park, the cuisine at The Beehive really is a cut above the rest offering both excellent quality Thai and English food.

Re-opened in 2010, owners John and Yom have transformed The Beehive into a buzzing venue where family and friends return time and again for its brilliant service. While the food is first rate, the venue still retains a homely and hearty atmosphere expected of any countryside gastro pub. Equipped with all the modern amenities including Sky HD, as well as being able to cater for weddings, birthdays and funerals, The Beehive really does look after its guests.

Thai food is fast becoming one of the most popular exotic cuisines and The Beehive offers a truly tasty Thai experience. The menu is extensive and offers every diner something that they will enjoy. Some of The Beehive’s popular dishes include the Weeping Tiger, a classic Thai salad with stir-fried strips of sirloin steak in Yom’s signature chilli sauce; the Larp, a sizzling North-eastern dish of chicken salad with spring onion, mint, chilli, soy sauce, lime juice and coriander; and the Garlic Chicken in a strong chilli batter served with salad and cooling coconut rice. There is also a Thai Noodle Bar where guests can tuck into delicious Singapore noodles with either beef, king prawn of chicken, and for vegetarians, there is a plentiful range of meat-free Thai delicacies.

For those who would prefer to stick to something more traditional, The Beehive offers an exquisite selection of English dishes including steaks, burgers and toasted sandwiches, not to mention the fantastic Sunday roast with all the trimmings. The fantastic food is not the only reason for The Beehive’s ever-growing popularity. With over 150 of the finest Single Malts, the venue boasts the biggest collection in Derbyshire.

As a family-friendly venue, The Beehive also offers an exclusive children’s menu packed with all their favourites as well as popular Thai-inspired dishes for the more adventurous little diner. With a huge choice of quality dishes, a perfect pub ambience, and a beautiful countryside right outside the door, The Beehive Glossop is a place where guests come to relax, socialise and enjoy excellent food.
