We say…

Bateman's Mill is a family-owned and run 4-star and Silver Hospitality award Hotel and restaurant. It is set within a quiet rural area of the Peak District around 10 minutes from Chesterfield. The Mill has a fantastic history behind it as it was originally built and used as a working flour and corn mill up to the 1930’s. The transformation from then to now is incredible and the restoration of the building has been carried out incredibly sympathetically, keeping many of the original features such as the brickwork, fireplaces and beams intact.

Bateman's Mill has a relaxing lounge area that was, surprisingly, once used as a motorbike repair shed, where diners are able to enjoy a glass of wine by the fire before making their way up to the restaurant when ready. With exposed beams, traditional decor and beautiful views across the countryside, Bateman's restaurant is a very special venue that would be ideal for an intimate meal. There is also a private dining room available for larger parties.

John Roberts, an original Master Chef of Great Britain, is passionate about food with years of experience as a chef and has created a menu that reflects the wonderful produce Derbyshire has to offer. From Medallions of Beef Fillet with potato rosti and wilted spinach to Roast Gressingham Duck with sauté endive and sage mash, diners are assured of having a fantastic meal.
