A wonderful restaurant to go to. A warm welcome at the door, lovely decorations and building and the food was excellent. For a Tuesday night the place was busy so glad we booked. We will definitely go again.

First time with Go dine. Barnacles lobster meal was tasty & well presented. It was a nice warm sunny evening and all the outside seating was full which shows how popular this place is. We enjoyed our evening and will go back.

Deborah Wright –
We were disappointed with the service of drinks when we arrived. We were asked straight away what we wanted for drinks. We asked for a wine list which we received but no one came to take our order. I asked a waitress who was collecting drinks for the restaurant if we could order the wine, which she did. Finally wine came after a 25 minute wait. We had booked the table for 7.30 but had to wait until 8.35 before being seated.
We have been to Barnacles a few times before and have had no problems with service. Perhaps they need to make sure the bar is fully staffed to cope with the amount of people booked in. It was a disappointing night. -

The food was just lovely as ever but sadly the service was a little slow, although this is not the norm.

The food is fantastic at Barnacles. The oysters are the best I've ever eaten. Lovely restaurant. Always bodes well when it's tucked out the way but always very popular. Totally recommend this restaurant, your missing out!

Well presented food on plate and very hot. Perfectly cooked. Pudding was magical. Service and care from minute we entered was professional yet not at all intrusive during the whole experience.

Wonderful setting at Barnacles, delicious meal and were offered a drink at the end of the meal when they realised it was our anniversary, unfortunately it was too late as we were leaving! We will say at time of booking next time! Couldn't fault the whole experience.

Food was good and service was excellent, however when we paid in cash with £3 change due we didn't receive any change, we didn't query this for the embarrassment therefore just left. This also happened to my sister when she visited this establishment back in October last year.

Very very disappointing. Beef was still mooing. Veg cold. Coffee tart, tasted nothing like coffee. Ordered breakfast tea and they gave me earl grey. Complete disaster. Didn't enjoy it at all.

Barnacles is a genuine fish restaurant with a good choice. Staff were friendly, but may need a bit more training. Good ambiance and very well supported for a Wednesday.

We ate here around 5 years ago and didn’t much enjoy it, but have recently seen some very good reviews we thought we’d give it another try. This was a lunch time booking using the set (offer) menu. The selection of main courses was rather limited. Although the staff were all very pleasant, the wait between courses was far too long. It was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday lunchtime and evidently there was no contingency plan to deal with it – pretty much the same problem as 5 years ago.

First time I have been to Barnacles and I thought the service was fantastic, really friendly chatty ladies. A beautiful setting also. Food was amazing and they made my friends birthday very special by bringing out the cake I had bought in for him. I am definitely going again ...

We say…
Barnacles is a family owned restaurant and bistro bar located in the countryside near Hinckley, Leicestershire. The restaurant has been passionate about seafood since they opened in early 1992, but also offer a wide range of meat and vegetarian dishes too.
A wide range of dishes are on offer catering for all tastes and budgets. The unique selling point is the quality of food served combined with warm and welcoming surroundings and friendly service; this is what keeps diners returning time and time again. The restaurant is set in beautiful grounds and overlooks a fishing lake whilst being conveniently located just off the A5 and M69.
The quality and freshness of its produce is at the heart of Barnacles success. The fish and shellfish are sourced from highly reputable suppliers who share a strong policy of sourcing sustainable products. The fish and seafood arrives fresh on site daily, beef steaks are sourced locally from a highly reputable butcher with over 85 years’ experience. The steaks are dry aged to a minimum of 30 days for increased flavour and their lobsters are kept live on site in cold salt water tanks so when they reach the plate cooked, they are as fresh as they can possibly be. The restaurant also stocks drinks from around the globe and offers diners a wide selection of wines, spirits, beer and cocktails.
The great food on offer at Barnacles is often accompanied by live music which are hosted monthly with the best of local bands alongside specialist food served, such as their upcoming Fruits De Mer Night and French Night.
All the team at Barnacles look forward to welcoming you to their restaurant, where great food, friendly service and relaxed surroundings await you.
