Modern steakhouse in Chapel Quarter serves meat with inspiration from around the globe.

Bar + Block is a specialist steakhouse in Nottingham city centre which brings the very best of British meat to diners.

The steak here is 28 day aged as standard and cut to order, hence the “block” used to chop the steak.

Speciality cuts, some of which take inspiration from South American cuisine include numbers like the Spiral Fillet. This sees fillet steak cut cleanly into a spiral shape, then marinated overnight in garlic and parsley for ultimate tenderness and flavour.

Other globally-inspired dishes include Korean BBQ pork ribs and lamb which is marinated in mint and served with tzatziki, a la Greek Souvlaki.

Vegans and vegetarians are well catered for at Bar + Block, too, with the veggie burger featuring a crisp feta, chilli and courgette fritter and halloumi, and other plant-based choices including a fragrant Thai green curry.

The restaurant itself feels, premium, modern and practical with low-hanging lights over the traditionally tiled bar and plenty of group-friendly booths.
