We say…
The Banyan Tree is a relatively recent addition to Nottingham’s lively restaurant scene, located conveniently just outside the city along the A60 Mansfield Road. It is a member of the successful Monsoon Foods Mansfield group, which has been serving up classic Indian food in Mansfield for over 15 years. Now, they are bringing their traditional approach to Indian dining further afield to Nottingham. It’s perfect for heading to after a busy family day out at the nearby Bestwood Country Park, or for eating a well-deserved meal after a day at the Ramsdale Park Golf Centre.
Its relatively secluded location makes this venue perfect to escape to for a laid-back meal with friends or a date. Inside, the stylish monochromatic décor, elegant table decorations and occasional Indian artefact – such as the gorgeous river scenes – set the tone for a memorable and sophisticated dining experience.
This place is also great for coming as a large party, as you’ll want to taste everything on the menu. The starter platters are a lifesaver for the indecisive, as they contain everyone’s favourite classic Indian dishes: chicken tikka, vegetable samosas, Sheek kebabs, and seasonal Pakora (vegetable fritters). There are an array of other starter options if you want something all to yourself, like the succulent sizzling salmon platter, roasted in caraway seeds, olive oil and turmeric. Banyan Tree’s signature main course menus are always a hit, why not treat yourself to a fragrant coconut fish curry? Or, if you want a meaty option, the duck sizzler main course consists of a juicy Gressingham duck breast marinated in herbs and tandoori spices, then grilled to perfection in a traditional tandoor oven and served with fresh onions and pepper on a platter.
The staff here are always happy to accommodate large groups and children, and creating a bespoke layout to suit your party is easy due to the stylish curved benches and round tables which allows you to chat to everyone. They also regularly cater for functions and host corporate events.
The Banyan Tree is fast becoming one of Nottinghamshire’s favourite Indian restaurants, so if you need a place to go for an all-round fantastic meal, then book here today.
