We say…

Hidden down Broadway Street in the historic Lace Market area of Nottingham is the much-loved Annie’s Burger Shack, just minutes from the train and bus stations. Annie has been serving up burgers and beers in Nottingham for years and has recently relocated to the Creative Quarter, close to indie cinema Broadway and all the best bars and clubs in Nottingham. This means it’s perfect for those wanting to round off a day’s shopping with a great meal, or even start off their night at Annie’s.

The interior is a quirky mix of a ‘50s Americana diner style, featuring Rhode Island licence plates and football helmets, combined with the rustic and down-to-earth feel of a lodge, with its wood-panelled walls and eclectic bundle of wooden tables and chairs. At your table you’ll find trivial pursuit cards with which to pass the time between ordering and eating, and there’s a massive selection of real ales and imported beers to choose from at the bar. The friendly staff are always happy to recommend their favourite beers and burgers for those overwhelmed by the options, so don’t be afraid to ask.

The massive range of drinks mirrors the array of options available in the burger menu. All of the 30+ burgers can be served meaty, veggie or vegan, so it’s the perfect place to come for a mixed group as no one will feel at all short-changed by their options. The burgers range from the classics, such as the ‘Bacon Cheddar’, to the weird and wonderful, such as the ‘Elvis’, which comes with a slathering of PB&J, and the ‘Fajita’, which is topped with salsa, guacamole and sour cream. All of the burgers come with a choice of fries: skinny, curly or Cajun wedges. It’s well worth venturing outside of your comfort zone here, as the ‘Vermont’ special, which is served with bacon, pancakes and maple syrup, has just been added to the permanent menu due to such high demand.

There’s a lot more on the menu, from onion rings to chilli hot hogs, but the burgers really steal the show at Annie’s. Booking well in advance is highly recommended for this Nottingham hotspot, so be sure to book Annie’s Burger Shack, Nottingham to avoid being disappointed!
