I and a friend had the turkey dinner. The turkey was delicious and a lot of it, the roast potatoes were good too. Only 2 sprouts, 2 small bits of carrots and an awful lot of undercooked parsnips, too raw too cut through.
The dessert was beautiful. The waitress didn't charge for our glass of coke as a gesture for the undercooked parsnips. We would be preferred the food was cooked properly though.

An excellent service, great environment and great company. Thank you again

    Lovely as always

Excellent service. Food preferences catered for. Freshly cooked, hot meals. Overall an excellent service.

Really enjoyed The crossing, has a great selection of Gin and the burgers are fantastic!
My only slight criticism is that they serve them now on a weird plastic tray. I'm sure when we have eaten there before they were either on wood platters and chips in buckets. I wish places would go back to plates!
Meal was reasonably priced. So will go back

We were spoilt for choice with the amazing menu and the food was beautiful. Can't fault anything about the meal or the service and we will definitely be booking again very soon.

Booked a meal for a Sunday evening. Wasnt aware the Sunday menu was different to the week but wasn't disappointed. Portion sizes really good, lots of choices and taste lovely.
Would def go back for a Sunday dinner again!

Great food, liked the sorbet cheap little treat.

One meal was served late and another was not cooked properly

The staff really nice and the food amazing (and a lot).

We went to the crossing in January for a birthday meal. The staff were lovely and helpful the food was very nice would recommend the cow pie.

Good Food, Good Service, Nice friendly staff. Will go back soon.

Hassle-free, tasty meal. Attentive staff. A little over-keen to seat (we arrived 30mins early to have a chat and drink prior to table occupancy) otherwise, spot-on.

Lovely service however main course came straight after the starter, for us was to quick. The food was lovely & we enjoyed our evening.

    Nice place and interesting menu.

    Lovely food & staff

Thoroughly enjoyable experience. The staff were very friendly and attentive whilst the food was tasty and attractive. Perhaps the only quirk was the ambiance because to my generation it was like looking at the contents of your garden shed/loft but that is the fashion at present lol x

    Lovely meal!

Food was amazing at the Crossing, although the service was a bit slow at times.

If I were to criticize anything it would be the waiting time for the food as we were on a lunch break and waited 45 minutes to eat.
However, the food at The Crossing was lovely, tasty and fresh.

We enjoyed our meal at The Crossing. I had Steak and it was cooked to perfection. The others had the Beef Bourginon from the specials board, again they enjoyed it. We'll be back soon.

Weekday lunch time menu is great value for money!

Honestly the best Sunday Lunch in Burton town centre at the moment.

Very nice and service first visit would definitely recommend

We have been 3-4 times now all good last time main came before starter then main was cold. Didn't bother me that much easy mistake, will still go again, great pub with good food and staff.

Fabulous food, excellent service, definitely book again

The food was really nice but the portion sizes were definitely too big. We had starters and it came with chips? Why we don't know we didn't want chips with a starter really not needed when the main come there was chips too defo too many. Cocktails were gorgeous and the ambiance was really cute and romantic with the candle till a large party arrived and started being extremely loud. Really nice place gorgeous top quality food and drinks and staff are really great.

Fantastic evening meal. Now trying lunch. Definitely will return for evening meal.

Brilliant. Lovely place :-) been recommending to friends :-)

Table was ready. Menu was different which was good. Very busy so a good atmosphere. Great selection of drinks. Definitely would go back to the Crossing.

The food at the Crossing was excellent. The ambiance unfortunately because it was lunch time was a little quiet. The value was excellent having ordered from the lunch menu the meal price was only £5. Portion size was good and of course the food tasted very nice. Well worth the money. The service was excellent with prompt timely service and a check back at an appropriate time.

The interior alone allows the history of this wonderful building to be revealed to each diner whilst remaining a friendly and warm place to dine.

Serving a range of great local ales, from this brewing hub, The Crossing makes itself a great option for a Pie ‘n’ Pint without losing any of the quality! When it comes to the food at The Crossing the pub classics are brought into the 21st century and rejuvenated to live up to the demanding world of gastropub food. Their Cow Pie features peppery steak, stout ale and bacon pie with hand cut chips. If you fancy something a little different, try the hand-formed burgers that The Crossing has to offer, such as 'The Brakeman' which is made up of prime beef burger topped with stilton cheese, dry cure smoky bacon, fresh tomato and Dancing Duck Cumberland chutney with hand cut chips - yum!

Contemporary, cutting edge food is the best way to describe The Crossing making it a must visit whenever you visit the lovely town of Burton-upon-Trent. Make sure that drop by this gorgeous gastropub next time you’re in Derbyshire and we promise you won’t regret it!
