Yo! Sushi is just one of several Japanese restaurants in Nottingham. It is located on Weekday Cross in the trendy Lace Market, an area renowned for its high class drinking and dining establishments. It is centrally located and close to shopping, nightlife and tourist attractions including the Ice Arena, Royal Centre and Nottingham Contemporary Art Gallery.

Yo! Sushi is lined with windows, allowing potential diners to peer in and see the delicious, freshly prepared dishes fly round on the conveyor belt. Everything inside the restaurant is arranged around the belt that loops the room. Diners have the option to sit in a booth that can seat up to four people, or take a seat on one of the high stools around the edge of the belt. The décor is kept minimal with bright bursts of orange present in the quirky, feature light fixtures.

A common misconception of sushi is that it is all about raw fish. One visit to Yo! Sushi will have you singing a different tune. Yo! Sushi offers diners a completely unique dining experience as you grab appetising looking dishes as they whizz past you. Each dish is prepared fresh in front of your eyes as the kitchen is located in the very centre of the conveyor belt loop. The belt offers a variety of hot and cold dishes, with particular favourites including the hairy prawns; huge prawns in crispy tempura batter with a dash of wasabi mayonnaise, California Roll; crabstick, avocado and cucumber wrapped in seaweed and rice and Chicken Yakisoba; thin stir fried noodles with vegetables and chicken. The menu is extensive and each dish can be ordered separately if you know exactly what you want and don’t fancy waiting for it.

If you have never been to Yo! Sushi before, it is definitely worth a visit. Even if you don’t like fish, there are enough fresh chicken, duck and beef dishes to keep even the fussiest eater satisfied. This venue is ideal for a first date as the excitement of catching dishes will keep everyone entertained and occupied.

Overall

There are cheaper places to eat in Nottingham but I've loved Yo! since I first tried it a couple of years ago. It's great if you just want to eat without waiting around for someone to take your order and wait for food to be cooked. Love the crispy duck futomaki and hairy prawns (not as scary as they sound!) Usually drop in for lunch or for a fun evening meal.
