Situated in Walkley, to the West of Sheffield city centre, Vito’s Italian restaurant has been serving the finest Italian cuisine Sheffield has to offer since 1992. Situated on South Road it is no more than a ten minute drive from the city centre, making it ideal for those looking for a dining experience minus the stress of the city.
Vito’s is a classic Italian restaurant offering the finest in authentic Italian cuisine. The restaurant is cosy and welcoming with soft lighting and a statement archway in the middle of the dining room. The walls are adorned with beautiful paintings and the table settings are simple and classic, allowing the food to do the talking.
Vito, the owner and namesake of the restaurant, uses recipes that have been passed down through the generations and his passion for Italian cuisine, culture and an impeccable dining experience is clear to see in every aspect of his restaurant. The menu is classically Italian but uses the very freshest Yorkshire produce to create stunning dishes. Offering dishes from Tuscany to Puglia there will be something to please everyone with risottos, pastas, pizzas, meat and vegetarian dishes on offer. Starters such as the Fagottini di Bresaola; cured beef parcels filled with mascarpone cheese, black pepper and fresh parsley and Asparagi Fritti; fresh Asparagus pan fried with olive oil, garlic, fresh parsley and a touch of lemon, are perfect ways to tantalise your taste buds. The mains feature Scalloppine Tonnate Al’Emiliana; escallops of veal pan fried, topped with tune, boiled egg, balsamic vinegar and vegetarians dishes such as Crespelle; pancakes filled with ricotta, spinach, basil and mint and baked with béchamel, mozzarella and tomato sauce.
As well as serving exceptional food, a huge effort has been made to create arguably the best wine list in South Yorkshire with particular favourites being Pinot Grigio Collio Marco Felluga or the Chianti Classico, or for the most discerning of wine-buffs Sassicaia 1991, a beautiful full-bodied Cabernet.
