The Wollaton serves quality, locally-sourced food in a relaxed and friendly environment. This London-style gastro pub is located on Lambourne Drive in Wollaton, Nottingham, and stands proudly on the corner of Wollaton Road. It is perfect for those making the most of nearby Wollaton Park who are looking for a place to relax after a long walk.
Formerly the Willoughby Arms, The Wollaton has been completely refurbished in an eclectic mix of textures, fabrics and colours by the team behind The Larwood and Voce in West Bridgford, and The Lord Nelson at Burton Joyce. This establishment is vast and provides a cosy and homely haven for drinkers and diners. With a dedicated dining area and a sizeable bar and lounge area it is a flexible venue that can cater for any size party, large or small.
The kitchen team at The Wollaton pride themselves on using local ingredients from beef to lamb and vegetables which not only guarantees freshness, quality and seasonality but also provides the optimum flavour as well as supporting local growers and breeders. Executive Chef and co-owner John Molnar is hands-on to ensure that the same high standards are enforced every single day.
The menu is packed with British classics and peppered with a few surprises for good measure. Portions are hearty and will leave you satisfied for hours afterwards. Signature dishes include the fish and chips; a fillet of beer battered haddock served with chips in dripping and marrowfat peas, Mr Woods’ wood pigeon with a roasted walnut and pear salad, and Casterbridge beef rib with all the trimmings. The Wollaton also hosts feature nights such as the incredibly popular steak night and the magnificent seven menus.
The Wollaton’s commitment to satisfying hungry appetites with high quality, locally sourced and perfectly executed dishes has not gone unrecognised. At the 2008 Nottingham Restaurant Awards the team scooped three highly-reputable accolades including ‘Best Pub Food’, ‘Best Local Produce Menu’, and ‘Nottinghamshire’s Young Chef of the Year’.
Open from mid-morning to serve hearty breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas and evening meals, The Wollaton pub and kitchen in Nottingham is perfect for any time of the day. We highly recommend the Sunday roast, a real favourite with visitors and locals.
