Situated off London Road on Midland Street, a mere five minutes’ walk from the rail station, is The Viceroy Indian restaurant in Derby; a well-regarded venue renowned for serving top-class cuisine.  Its close proximity to the city centre makes it the ideal venue to enjoy a quiet meal before exploring what Derby has to offer.

At the entrance you are greeted by a waiter dressed in traditional attire, not only does this help to start your dining experience before you have even entered the building, but it sets you at ease and allows guests to recognise how important customer service is to The Viceroy. Inside the restaurant is modern and chic with just a twist of traditional Indian décor. Everything is immaculately presented, from the edgy artwork that adorns the walls, to the red leather sofas in the bar area and the appearance of the staff. No detail has been overlooked. The two-floor restaurant features a bar and lounge on the ground floor and the main, vibrant and contemporary, dining room upstairs.

Serving only the finest Indian cuisine and with views through to the kitchen, diners are able to watch their meal being expertly created by the experienced chefs. With classics such as Butter Masala and Barrah Champ;select cuts of lamb, soaked in a marinade of crushed garlic cloves, coriander, desi chillies and yoghurt then cooked over hot charcoal, guests are spoilt for choice and will not be disappointed, whatever they order.

As winner of the Derby Telegraph’s ‘Restaurant of the Year’ award 2011, The Viceroy Indian restaurant in Derby is one of the finest Indian restaurants in the area and provides the perfect backdrop for a romantic meal or special occasion.
