The Star Inn 1744 sits proudly on the corner of The Green in Thrussington, Leicester. It offers residents and visitors alike a completely unique experience, offering delicious gastro food as well as a place to sit and enjoy one of their delicious speciality coffees and cakes throughout the day. It is the multi-purpose venue that Thrussington has been crying out for for so long. It is a large establishment that has been feeding and watering guests for over 250 years since its construction in 1744. It’s convenient location just off ‘Old Fosse Way’, or the A46, just a twenty minute drive North of Leicester city centre means that the venue is easily accessible for those on their way to or from Nottingham, Newark and Lincoln.
Open seven days a week, serving tea, coffee and nibbles from 9am onwards, this venue is ideal for a quick morning coffee, a hearty lunch or relaxing evening meal. The Star Inn manages to combine rustic and contemporary design in such a way that the atmosphere of the venue goes far beyond that of a local village pub. The weathered beams, clean cream walls and polished wooden floors create a relaxing environment that is welcoming and a delight to be in, whether you are celebrating a special occasion, dropping in for a quick drink or a light bite to eat.
Diners are treated to a modern British menu that also frequently features dishes from other cuisines. You can expect to find dishes such as Lemon battered fillet of Cod served with chunky chips and homemade mushy peas; 10oz ribeye cooked to your liking, and Moroccan Lamb Tagine a giant cous cous dish flavoured with fruit, nuts and spices. Lunch time diners can choose from a good selection of light lunches including Scampi and chips, local hand-linked sausages with creamy mash and onion gravy and soup served with crusty bread.
The Star Inn also host regular feature nights including Lobster evenings and Cheese and Wine events. This venue is perfect for enjoying the company of your friends and family; eat, drink and be merry!
