This double AA Rosette awarded venue is a peaceful haven, tucked away down a country lane, offering complete isolation and relaxation. Visitors and guests are greatly encouraged to enjoy the unspoilt surroundings by talking a brisk walk before sampling the locally sourced cuisine in The Orangery restaurant. Described by the Sheffield Telegraph as ‘the perfect country house retreat where the food is as good as the view’, visitors and guests alike can rest assured that they will be privy to truly exceptional service and cuisine.
The dining room at The Orangery is light, bright and airy and lined on three walls by huge, full length windows that offer spectacular views of the countryside. Delicate cast iron chairs, flawless white table linen and classic tableware ensures that the dining room remains uncluttered, allowing the food, and the views, to take centre stage. The restaurant is vast yet only seats 50 people at a time to avoid overcrowding.
Paul and Karen Roden have strived for the ultimate hotel, spa and dining experiences since taking ownership of Losehill House in 2007. The attention to detail is superb and they aim to source the finest local produce, free from genetic modification and organic where possible. Head Chef Darren Goodwin uses his skills and experience to treat diners to a meal that will ensnare and excite all the senses. Highlights from his carefully crafted menu include Elton estate venison, Goosnargh duck and succulent White Peak fillet steak. The A La Carte menu is exquisite as it the Table d’Hote menu which offers a show-stopping five course meal that exhibits the chefs talents as well as the beautiful local produce.
