Owned are run by Sarah and Kieran McLoughney for the past five years, The Moorings has developed a solid reputation for serving excellent British cuisine based on seasonal and local ingredients. Sarah offers the warmest welcome and ensure that all guests are comfortable and relaxed whether they are settling down for a pre or post-meal drink in the lounge. The dining room offers guests a welcoming place to dine with fantastic views over the canal and cosy intimate corners.
Kieran heads up the kitchen and has an enviable track record; he previously worked at one of the top restaurants in Jersey and is also the private Chef on one of the biggest private yachts in the world. His cooking style has earned him much praise as he creates original and distinctive British and continental cuisine using fresh local produce. His cooking has attracted diners from miles around, especially given the ease of finding The Moorings just off the M1.
The menus are seasonal and change daily in order to take advantage of the best ingredients available. Examples of what you can expect on a visit to The Moorings include the starter of salmon and haddock rillettes with a refreshing cucumber salad, followed by a succulent confit belly of Long Buckby pork served with black pudding mash, black pudding sausage and a rich red wine jus. The well-chosen wine list ensures that there is a drink to suit every course and the staff are more than capable of recommending wine choices.

Dined here for the first time, lovely warm welcome from Sarah, very homely surroundings while you enjoy a pre-dinner drink. Taken upstairs to a very delicious 3 course meal. Stunning dishes, lovely hostess, certainly will return.

Lovely, local restaurant thats tucked away from Rugby in the secluded village of Crick in Northamptonshire. Located on the side of the canal, this scenic restaurant is an ideal place for a quiet meal with friends or family. The menu always offers local sourced and produced ingredients and the menu is constantly changing. Sarah and the host team are fantastic, and the food is always enjoyable. Great Restaurant, particularly on special occasions. Great selection of wines.
