Lovely evening! Excellent service and very flavoursome food. A busy restaurant which has a good atmosphere. Just need to tidy up the toilets for a full set of 8's.

We went to the Cumin as it was recommended by the hotel we were staying in. We walked there on a very cold night in March and were received politely by the staff. The Tandoori plate appetizer was excellent and the Dal makhni and Goan Prawn curry were extremely tasty. All of the food was well spiced and service was faultless.

Service was slow and our bill was wrong!

Excellent food, staff extremely helpful and very pleasant. Struggled to attract their attention a couple of time...but it was busy!!! Overall a very good experience!

Food was good as always, although the Rogan Josh was a little overdone. I found the waiter very sexist in automatically presenting me with the bill, as my girlfriend was paying today.

Excellent food and service. Food cooked from fresh (not reheated!) and an excellent atmosphere. Have been back since, many times!

We had a fabulous meal at this restaurant last night. The food was excellent and well spiced, the staff were helpful and the atmosphere was good too. Our sons, whose birthdays we were celebrating, were given very tasty Indian carrot cake. I would certainly visit again.

Nice food, but a little expensive, even with the Go dine offer.

Excellent food / Brilliant service. The whole experience was fantastic and the decor on the upper levels with the lighting was also fantastic.

Another excellent curry at Cumin!

Staff were very helpful in describing dishes. I have marked the toilets down, because the decor was all black walls and tiles making it hard to see cleaarly. The hand dryer was not working and it needed dusting. Toilets themselves were clean.

Some good reviews of this place so it had a lot to live up to. Didn't disappoint though, food was excellent even though it was late and staff no doubt wanted to go home! Highly recommend, as good as any curry in the area, if not better.

Been to this restaurant many times and it never fails to impress me. We took along some friends who hadn't been to cumin before and they all really enjoyed it.
ANDREW STURCH – 09/11/2010
Excellent food with very pleasant service.
The 8 on ambience and 9 overall are only due to some need for sound absorbency when there are louder tables nearby. Otherwise, it would be 10s right across the board.
Definitely a favourite and no need to go higher up Maid Marian Way!!

First time we've been but I would go again. The food was superb.

Excellent once again, you can tell its a family concern, ambience makes it. Food very salty again as after taste.
Clare Ashbee – 18/10/2010
The food was amazing, I'd recommend the Aloo Tikki starter - fantastic! Portions were large & we were very impressed the staff made recommendations. Service was prompt, friendly & informative. We were made to feel like old friends on out first visit!

Very friendly, good food and atmosphere, you could tell it was a family run concern and the customer is king

In no way could it be better.
I will be recommending the Cumin to my friends.

Me and my wife won a valentines meal for two at the cumin from radio trent fm, the food was excellent and the staff made you feel really welcome. A great experience, thank you.

Excellent food. Good service
Lexie Rudd – 01/12/2009
You couldn't ask for better service if you tried - the food was a bit spicy but good apart from the mango chutney which was too hot (not sweet). I would gladly go back again.

We had a very good meal at the Cumin. I really enjoyed the Peshwari nan bread, I always get that when going for a curry but this was absolutely perfect. Shelley recommended us to try some particular beers to go with our meal and they were really good too - nice touch. The mains and sides we had were excellent (I had lamb curry with mushroom rice) and my Dad said his chicken curry dish was one of the best curries he has ever had (repeatedly!). In a nutshell the Cumin has a trendy and comfortable restaurant and the food is made with top quality ingredients, it tastes superb and I will definately be going again. :)

Went for Valentines day, nice restaurant, menu was a little hard to understand and not explained as was a special menu for the day. Overall the staff were polite and the service was very good, the food was also very nice except the the desert (fruit pudding) was completely frozen in the middle, we then told them about this and they brought another one, which again was frozen solid so we gave up, they did however knock abit off the bill but not without having the final word and being rather rude saying 40 other people had eaten it but when i looked around no one actually had and had left the rock hard fruit and just eaten the soggy sponge!barring the pudding situation overall it was a rather nice evening.
Ali Murray – 06/10/2008
Very good selection of vegetarian choices on the menu.
