Housed within the Alea Casino in Leeds, The Bird restaurant offers fabulous Indian cuisine in chic, modern and contemporary surroundings. Being within a casino this venue is perfect for an all-in-one night out as diners, over the age of eighteen only, enjoy a spectacular meal followed by a night in the casino.
The Bird is a contemporary dining space that provides a formal, yet relaxed, dining experience. The LED lit floors and sunk tables combined with modern pendant lighting and quirky room separators ensure that you will not forget this restaurant in a hurry. In the evening, the bar and lounge area simmers with opulent red lighting creating a seductive and exciting ambience. In the centre of the lounge is a cluster of booths, partitioned off and lit with multi-coloured lights and a feature light fixture in the middle. Everything about The Bird is opulent and luxurious and designed to give guests the ultimate fine-dining experience.
Chef Vineet is one of the only Michelin starred Chefs in his field and as executive Chef at The Bird, he is hands-on in crafting the menus, training the staff to replicate his high standards of quality and keeping a keen eye on the evolution and design of the menus. The food at The Bird is stunning and features tapas-style starters such as pop-corn chicken and succulent Tikka lamb chops which come served in a quirky holder. The taste is as spectacular as the presentation and the main are equally exquisite with the rich flavours of India infusing every morsel in a way that only a Michelin starred Chef can achieve. Surprisingly, The Bird is incredibly reasonably priced for the cuisine on offer with mains starting from as little as £5.95!
The Bird fits in perfectly with the decadent décor used throughout the casino. By only admitting guests over the age of eighteen to comply with gambling laws, a night at The Bird is grown up and luxurious and provides a fabulous dining experience from start to finish. For those who are feeling lucky, you can even have a flutter in the casino pre, or post, meal.

Bit quiet for Friday night, but the food and the ambience was the winning combination again.

Really tasty meal. Wasn't sure that we would like the restaurant being in the casino, but made the atmosphere more interesting.

We decided to visit "The Bird" as it came highly recommended from a friend. To be honest, as a regular visitor to Leeds Indian restaurants, i had never heard of "the bird" . We arrived a little earlier had a small flutter in the brilliant casino and knocked back a few mojitos. We were seated as soon as we went to the restaurant. As we went for the special "Alea all inn" menu there was a limited selection to what you could chose. Surprisingly, the menu had a great choice. The chicken tikka starter was very nice, a little dry however the yoghurt and mint dip complimented it well. The main course was beautiful, it came on a posh platter with a curried soup, small dish of rice , my garlic naan and my curry. The deserts were equally as nice. All this with 2 drinks was only £30 which is the best value meal i have had in a long time. I will defiantly be returning to "the bird" although next time i will be intrigued to see what the a la carte menu will be like!
