This place was amazing when it opened, the choice was for everyone’s taste. This time I had two starters as there was rabbit, guinea fowl and duck and the only veggie was celeriac tart. The prices have also shot up. In between my visits they won restaurant of the year so maybe they feel it’s justified but I was incredibly disappointed.

Fantastic little place and very cosy. The staff were welcoming and the food was gorgeous. No complaints with anything and we will certainly be going back.

    Enjoyable evening all round !

    good food. good service

The food was very good. Pricey but good.
I don't understand why you have to get your own wine. Usually if you serve yourself you pay less. Why is every bottle the same price? Again pricey...no choice to make the meal a little cheaper. When paying such prices you should be waited on hand and foot.
My husband's seat was padded and after he had sat down for a while he realised his trousers were wet from the soaked padded seat. The waitress apologised and changed the chair. Nothing else. If that was me in my best clothes I would have gone mad. My husband is a very gentle man and accepted his fate and did not complain.
Overall the experience was good. We will most probably visit again but only for a very special occasion. We are a middle aged couple, our children have all now left home and we are enjoying our new found freedom. We would eat at Terroir Bistro more often if it wasn't so expensive. It is definitely too expensive to visit regularly.

The food was interesting and well cooked, though somewhat cold when it reached us.
We had a very small table which was not really big enough for 4, so it was difficult to accommodate glasses etc.
We felt that the menu was somewhat overpriced.

Very good food and well presented.. overall bit over priced.

Had really enjoyable night food was really good waitress was lovely and very helpful enjoyed it that much we booked for new year

Lovely evening. Food was fantastic, lovely atmosphere, friendly service... What else can you ask for? So not like your chain restaurants, unique experience.

Cosy atmosphere and friendly service. They adapted a starter for my daughter to turn it in to a main meal. Thank you.

A very nice meal with surroundings to match with very polite and efficient staff, food cooked and presented to a very good standard with more visits to come.

Excellent meal! Nice cosy setting with a good choice of food. Staff pleasant and attentive.

Excellent Excellent and imaginative menu. Great service and ambience so good we returned within a week!

Three of us enjoyed a unique dining experience on Friday evening & enjoyed it very much. The ambience is cosy & quirky with many old radios dotted around & varied range of pictures on the walls. To choose your wine there is a wall of wine at £18.00 ea & we selected a lovely New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. We all had the Mushroom gratin starter which was served in a china teacup & very tasty it was too. Our mains of Hake, Duck & pork belly followed promptly which we all enjoyed the roast potatoes are particularly nice. We couldn't resist pudding so 2 cheesecakes with ice cream for my friends and I selected the chocolate cup which was small but delicious, ideal if you are feeling rather full already. Loved this quant little Bistro.

Amazing smoked duck breast starter, excellent service, cosy and an interesting setting.

Interesting and different food choice from the usual restaurants, friendly staff. Will defiantly visit again!

This was our first visit, it was fabulous the small but cosy venue was lovely.

Extremely friendly staff who even let my hubby try a drink before he purchased to see if he liked it.

Food was excellent very tasty, a very nice evening and great value. Really like the wine offerings as well very good idea.

Booked a table for 4. Staff very helpful and friendly, service very good. Food was amazing, every course was beautifully presented and the taste was wonderful. Will definately be visiting again.

What a lovely evening, from the moment we walked in until we left could not fault anything apart from not being able to eat a pudding as we were so full from the very generous main portions. Will definitely make Terroir a regular place to eat!

Beautiful quirky little place. Food was delicious and great value! Service was high standard. Definitely happy I tried this place out for valentines day! Have recommended a few people who have all had nothing but great things to say about Terrior Bistro x

We all enjoyed our meals at Terroir, the mushroom starter was a particular win! Mains tasty on the whole, salmon croquettes served well, the vegetarian options could be wider for main but overall we had a fantastic meal in a great little restaurant with a lovely warm feeling. We liked being able to choose our wine from the wine rack & that it was reasonably priced.

Unusual, but gorgeous recipes. Service was attentive when you wanted it, but never hovering when you didn't. No nonsense about sniffing corks. A lovely intimate ambiance, a great selection of wines, and my favourite - no hidden extras.

Very nice dishes were amazing will definetly be going again

We say…

A brand new addition to the local Derby dining scene Terroir Bistro has arrived in the city just in time for some wonderful winter dining. Located on the north-west side of Derby the restaurant is only a stones throw from the Derby Museum and a 5 minute walk from the impressive city Cathedral.  This means the restaurant is perfectly positioned for those in the city to shop during the day and dine in comfort by night. Offering a sublime range of great British dishes with a local Derbyshire twist, Terroir Bistro is definitely have you hankering for a return visit!

Owned by Tim Sidaway, an experienced livestock farmer with an excellent knowledge of high animal welfare standards and organic farming practices, you are guaranteed nothing but the best. The menu at Terroir Bistro changes regularly to reflect the seasons and when availability of key ingredients changes. A large proportion of the meat used comes straight from the families own livestock, and has been expertly reared. As well as the meat available the restaurant tries to ensure that everything else is locally sourced from Derbyshire where possible. Terroir Bistro is the perfect venue for those who care more about the impact of farming and what can be done to better change attitudes to organic farming in the county.

When it comes to the menu, it's ever changing nature means that there will always be something new ready to surprise you. When it comes to the menu, it's ever changing nature means that there will always be something new ready to surprise you. Some great example starter dishes include the spicy squash soup with pea puree bomb and bread. Then for the main event we love the Atlantic Cod, served with sauteed new potatoes, crispy parm harm, pea puree and pickled samphire.

With a lovely homely interior matched with the rustic and traditional cooking techniques and organic ingredients Terroir Bistro is sure winner in central Derby. Whether you have been shopping in the city centre or simply want a new dining experience in Derby Terroir cannot be ignored!
