Named after the army that Qin Shi Huang created for his passing with 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots and 770 horses, Terracotta Chinese restaurant is located in Leicester city centre offering Chinese buffet and a la carte options to all. Located on Highcross Street just round the corner from Hotel Maiyango and MemSaab.
The dining room is huge and seats up to 180 people which does not include the smaller additional rooms that can be used for parties and special celebrations. There are a variety of table sizes meaning that Terracotta is perfect for couples, families or friends. There is also entertainment in the form of the Teriyaki bar where you can watch your food being prepared for you right in front of your eyes.
Being largely and Oriental buffet, there is a hint of canteen dining surrounding the venue but this is quickly overlooked as the selection of food on offer is very high quality and incredibly plentiful. There is a array of hot and cold dishes including succulent prawn toast, crispy aromatic duck pancakes with hoisin sauce, satay chicken, beef in black bean sauce and Dim Sum. As well as this you can choose from a selection of sirloin, prawns, salmon and noodles and the Teppanyaki chef will cook them in front of your eyes, even adding a hit of chilli if you want it. On Friday and Saturday evenings there is also a Japanese Noodle Bar where you pick your favourite noodle and combine it with meats and vegetables of your choice in a soup base, once again it is freshly prepared and cooked while you watch.
Terracotta is large restaurant ideal for group bookings or celebrations before heading off to sample Leicester’s nightlife which is only a few hundred yards away.
