Go dine review

Tamatanga markets itself as a funky, ‘urban Indian canteen’ serving exciting Indian cuisine. Housed within the Cornerhouse complex in Nottingham it is ideally located for diners who are visiting the Royal Centre, cinema goers and as a perfect place to relax after a long day’s shopping. It is surrounded by parking options including the Trinity Square and Euros car park and is also just a minutes’ walk from the Royal Centre tram stop.

If you enjoy dining at places such as Wagamama, you will love Tamatanga. You always receive a warm welcome. The colourful décor consisting of orange and pink hues and the buzz of chatter and clinking glasses the rise from the sociable communal tables give this venue a vibrant atmosphere that keeps customers coming back time after time. The layout of this particular restaurant means that it is possible to be in, dine, and be back out within 45 minutes if you’re looking for a speedy lunch or pre-theatre meal. You can also linger, soak up the atmosphere and chat the night away, which ever takes your fancy.

This is an Indian eatery with a refreshingly laid back ethos, serving up tasty, healthy food all day long. The menu doubles up as your placemat, which the restaurant recycle, and on it you will find a huge selection of Indian favourites. The ‘Curry Bowls’ are particularly good value as for under £10 you can enjoy a huge portion of well-known curry dishes such as Lamb Rogan Josh and Butter Chicken with either a rice or naan bread. The Tothali selection is also incredibly tasty and offers a completely balanced meal featuring poppadum’s, chutney, vegetables dishes, a curry of your choice, rice, naan and salad. However, in its quest to provide a new Indian restaurant experience, Tamatanga also offers a range of unique curries and side dishes which are delicious, particularly the Aubergine Baigan Masala, Paneer dishes and Chicken Tikka Wraps all at fantastic prices.

Tamatanga offers a fun-filled dining experience that is perfect for group meals or lively couples.

Overall

Nice concept. I took my girlfriend to tamatanga and we enjoyed the meal which was fairly reasonably priced. Would go again.
