Go dine review
Located on Gold Street in the centre of the town is Le Sacrebleu; Northampton’s premier French restaurant. Hidden away from the hustle and bustle down a small alley way you are welcomed into the cosy downstairs bar by owner Hamid, to sit and enjoy a pre-meal drink whilst admiring the photos of famous diners before meandering upstairs to the main restaurant area.
The walls are covered with canvases and pictures of France and all things Parisian, including several beautiful, specially commissioned, wall hangings that are sure to be a talking point. The furnishings are simple French bistro style and there is a friendly and lively atmosphere perfectly suited to leisurely dining. With the addition of an al fresco dining terrace that is suitable for winter or summer use and the advantage of the venue having a late license, you are able to talk the night away over coffee and liqueurs until 3am if you so desire. Hamid hosts regular jazz nights and jam sessions at the restaurant which provides the perfect opportunity to stay up late and take part in the fun and games.
Le Sacrebleu Northampton is renowned for its fantastic French cuisine and lovingly compiled wine list, both of which boast a wide selection of French classics. You will feel spoiled for choice when you look at the menu with delicious French onion soup and, for the more adventurous, frogs legs Provençale both being highly recommended as starters. Mains include the ever-popular sautéed chateaubriand and the equally mouth-watering fillet medallions en croute; tender slices of beef cooked with feta cheese, apricots, cream cheese and sautéed mushrooms, served like wellington. All dishes are cooked fresh to order so you will be enjoying the food at its absolute prime.
Before moving to Northampton from London, Hamid was a professional DJ and chef to the stars including The Spice Girls, U2 and Tom Cruise to name a few. He still loves organising parties so Le Sacrebleu is the perfect venue for any occasion whether it’s a large gathering of family and friends or an intimate meal for a couple.

A little difficult to find at first because it's down a little alley way, but once you're inside it's lovely. Very friendly and warm service, generous portion sizes, good wine list. Have booked a table for a party in a few weeks and very much look forwards to it.

We used Sacrebleu to host a party and it was great!! The owner was awesome and very helpful with lots of ideas for the party! On the day we didn't have to do a thing as management took care of everything and the marquee, set up and food was amazing. The service was excellent and the bar staff were fantasitc. Nothing was too much hassle for them. We will be booking this place for parties in the future and I recommend everyone else does the same!!

The staff on service and the owner were very friendly. Our meal was enjoyed with an extensive wine list - we ordered drank the house white wine and ate two starters, two mains, two puddings and rounded off with 2 coffees. All the food and drink was excellent. I would highly recommend.
