In the heart of Northampton town centre is the locally-reputed Papa Cino’s; a haven for lovers of Italian cuisine across Northamptonshire. The restaurant is ideally situated close to many of Northampton’s public houses, shopping areas such as the Grosvenor Centre, the Derngate and Royal Theatres, as well as some of Northampton’s most popular nightspots. Diners are invited to make their way down into this basement venue just off Dychurch Lane and are welcomed by seasoned host Stewart, who offers a warm welcome and leads you through to the main dining room. The dining space has been very cleverly decorated to make the most out of the basement space and clever wallpaper choices make it feel as if you are sat in a stone courtyard surrounded by rolling Italian countryside. The food at Papa Cino’s constantly receives stellar reviews and promises to be authentically cooked and full of flavour just as Italian food should be. Renowned for simple ingredients and unfussy dishes, Papa Cino’s begins their guests gastronomic tour of Italy with popular starters such as gamberoni, king prawns served with lemon and garlic butter; and Stromboli, a folded pizza bread filled with pepperoni and cheese and topped with a rich tomato sauce. Mains continue the journey with slow roasted lamb in a red wine and rosemary jus with garlic mash and spinach; baked salmon with Mediterranean vegetables and pan-fried new potatoes; and classic spaghetti bolognese are all excellent choices. Papa Cino’s offers guests a fun-filled, authentic dining experience that is perfect for any occasion. Whether you are popping by to enjoy their fantastic value for money lunch or pre-theatre menus, or feasting with friends and family you are sure to love what the team at Papa Cino’s have to offer. Valuing authentic food, great atmosphere, great people, and great events, you won’t be disappointed.

Very nice setting and ambience. Food was a little disappointing for the price. The lamb was described as "slow cooked" it was still a little tough. The mash potato also had plenty of solid pieces of potato in, so could of being mashed more.

Overall an enjoyable experience. I really enjoyed the King Prawn starter and my sea bass. My partner was disappointed by her pasta dish and the bottle of wine we initially ordered was unavailable. We would go again.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, so much so we forgot to leave a tip, apologies.

The food was delicious huge portions, and piping hot and the staff were attentive without being pushy, my only complaint was the fact that there was no air conditioning in the restaurant and it was a hot evening and being 28 weeks pregnant got a bit uncomfortable. The only other thing I didn't like was the chairs there was no padding.
