Situated on Glossop Road just 5 minutes’ West of the city centre, Loch Fyne in Sheffield opened its doors in 2008 to critical acclaim and fantastic reviews from residents and visitors alike. You may have noticed other branches of Loch Fyne dotted around the country but the Sheffield restaurants is easily one of the most beautiful; set within the old Hanrahan’s building which boasts exposed brickwork, wooden floors, sash windows and buckets of character.
Loch Fyne prides itself on serving the freshest seafood and the Sheffield branch is no different; guaranteeing its customers that the fish are caught humanely are sustainably sourced at all times. You can expect to find some of the UK’s best seafood here with everything from cockles and mussels to lobster and sea bream. You can even replicate your dinner by taking home some of the fresh fish available at the in-restaurant fish counter!
The menu changes seasonally, so in the winter months you can expect to find warm and hearty dishes such as whisky smoked salmon and Loch Fyne® Salmon & Prawn Fish Soup for starters. The Loch Fyne oysters on ice are also an incredibly popular choice with those who are feeling indulgent. For mains you can expect dishes such as Loch Fyne moules frites, pan-friend mussels in a cream, white wine and shallot sauce served with fries and crusty bread; lobster frites, a whole-baked Canadian lobster with garlic butter, French fries and mayonnaise; and 21-day aged British rib eye steak, chargrilled to your liking and served with crispy twice-cooked chips, garlic mushrooms and firey peppercorn sauce. A good Christmas Day lunch! Very busy with large and smaller parties. Felt very relaxed and not rushed as there were no 'sittings' which we've had at other places. Staff very helpful. Good menu choice.

Staff friendly and happy to make recommendations. Quick service between courses. Food and house wine, Rose, of a high standard and all tasted great. Would recommend and visit again without hesitation.

It was an excellent evening with amazing food. It did get a little loud at time as we were sat next to the bar.

I had the set lunch menu which was £10.25 and excellent value for a lunchtime treat with 4 choices of main and carafe of house wine @ £6.70 or £2.70 per glass.

The special starter of scallops with garlic butter was delicious and perfectly cooked (not rubbery) but may have benefited from a touch more garlic. Lobster bisque was excellent.
Main course of pan fried sea bass with sweet chilli and spring greens was again cooked to perfection. Monkfish and chorizo risotto was slightly under seasoned, but easily fixed with a grind of pepper. Would have liked a couple of extra chunks of the very tender monkfish.
Desserts of custard tart and orange and chocolate tart were both of an excellent standard.Chocolate tart in particular was rich without being overpowering, nicely offset by berry coulis and compote. Very friendly service from busy yet competent staff.
