Independently owned and run restaurant The Lobster Pot in Nottingham is a premier seafood restaurant with an excellent reputation. Located along Mansfield Road at the point where it meets Huntingdon Road, just up from The Nags Head pub it is just outside of the main city centre strip but is well worth the walk.

The restaurant itself looks unsuspecting from the outside, with its bright blue façade, but inside it is a haven of calm. The décor is neutral, with whitewashed walls and wooden floors that hint at a slight nautical theme. Potted plants give a pop of vibrant green that gives the restaurant a fresh feel and allows the food to take centre stage.

The Lobster Pot Nottingham is an AA rosette award winner from 2005 – 2009 and prides itself on serving only the best seafood. On the menu you will, of course, find a huge selection of fish dishes that celebrate the very best of the surf. Dishes on offer include the Chef’s Four Salmon Platter which combines the highly flavoured, smoked Bradan Rost, Bradan Orach, traditional Smoked Salmon and Gravadlax; a superb selection of shellfish dishes including Queen Scallops which are wrapped in bacon and grilled. In addition to seafood, diners who prefer turf, a few select  chicken, beef and pork dishes are available.

The bar is well stocked with incredibly reasonably priced beers, ciders and soft drinks as well as a wine list that spans the globe. If you’re looking for a seafood restaurant that is dedicated to serving the best quality food, The Lobster Pot is definitely worth a trip.

Overall

Lovely staff and food. Don't be fooled by the plain appearance as the food is anything but. Been a few times and my favourite dish is definitely the salmon platter.

Overall

Walked in on a Thursday and were shown to our seats quickly. A small independent restaurant run by friendly staff, was a real success. We shared a large lobster and it was divine. The restaurant itself lacks a little character but the quality of food and the staff make up for that!
