Le Mistral restaurant in Sherwood is a cosy cafe style restaurant. The staff and atmosphere is inviting and carries the sense of rustic charm you would expect when on holiday in France. The dining style of the restaurant is relaxed and unhurried, with diners refreshingly encouraged to take their time to enjoy some "time out". Without an air of pretension the restaurant is a getaway and haven for anyone who wants to enjoy a nice, fresh, simple lunch or dinner with a nice glass of wine (or two!) without being hassled by anyone. This atmosphere and approach appears to have carried across from France with great care.
Many of the restaurants ingredients are sourced directly from the Rungis Market in Paris and many of the wines at Le Mistral (over 58 different labels!) are straight from the cellars of French vineyards. For those who are celebrating a variety of affordable, quality and interesting champagnes are available too. And without forgetting those who like the occaasional premium beer, Le Mistral have and extensive range of bottled lagers from France.

Not quite what I expected from a french restaurant. Amazing food but none of the french classics I anticipated? A relaxed atmosphere.
