Le Mistral in Nottingham city centre is a French style café, wine bar and bistro that offers locals and visitors alike relaxed dining, all day long. In a prime location in Eldon Chambers, just down the road from Burton at the market square, next to Specsavers and where HMV used to be, Le Mistral is perfect for every occasion from a lunch time break from shopping, a pre-theatre bite to eat, an intimate table for two or a gathering of friends and family.
Following their success with the Sherwood and Wirksworth Mistrals, the Nottingham city centre branch shares the same cosmopolitan yet friendly atmosphere. Stepping into Le Mistral is like being transported across the Channel and right into an authentic Parisian bistro. The restaurant comes complete with exposed brickwork, fabrics with vintage patterns, French memorabilia adorning the walls and mismatched tables and chairs. The lighting is low and the effect is intimate, cosy and welcoming.
The motto at Le Mistral is ‘slow food in a fast world,’ which is reflected in their approach to their cuisine: good quality food prepared and cooked from fresh using only the very best ingredients, many of which are sourced directly from the Rungis Market in Paris. Diners can expect to find contemporary twists on French classics such as moules marinière and baked camembert. You will find the mains as equally mouth-watering with dishes such as beautiful beef bourguignon, salmon fillet with a pesto crust, and hearty sausage of the day and mash. There is a limited menu for vegetarians that, whilst small, is delicious. Alongside the menu you will find wine recommendations for each dish which allow you to expertly match you fine French wines perfectly to your meal, Bon Appetite!
Alongside the menu there is an extensive wine list, with many of the wines being sourced directly from French cellars, as well as authentic French lagers and a selection of decadent yet affordable champagnes.
Le Mistral in Nottingham city centre is ideal for turning any occasion in to a special one and you can rest assured that you will leave feeling relaxed, full and looking forwards to your next visit.

Excellent value food and really great service. We were a large group (and even added 1 extra at late notice, which they took in their stride), but the food came quickly, drinks were refreshed and the service was second to none. Can't recommend enough.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Food was fresh, hot and plenteful. Service was efficient and friendly, very welcoming. Will recommend to friends and definitely return. Thankyou Le Mistral

Having been to Le Mistral several times, we were a bit disapointed with the service received, however the manageress took our complaints seriously and the overall result was good. Main course was excellent.

The atmosphere was good, food was very nice, home-cooked and delicious. The cheeseboard was a little too small for my liking and with no fruit but all-in-all, it was a nice meal. We went on the £26 wine and dine offer, so the wine that we got was the house red wine which is not fantastic but was good value for money. We will definitely go back.

The restaurant was very busy for a lunchtime and we could see why. The £8.90 two course menu was superb value for money - very well presented, tasty and fresh. The waitress service was friendly and efficient and there was a nice relaxed vibe in the restaurant. Will definitely return.

This restaurant has a very relaxed ambience. The food is delicious and although we usually stick to the same kind of wine we decided to go with the waiter's recommendation and it was wonderful. Will certainly return.

It has a lovely intimate setting and the food was great. The only problem is that they tend to run out of particular dishes. Both times I have visited this restaurant, I have had to go for my second choice of main.

Super ambiance and the service was excellent. A little disappointed with the Pork Belly gnocchi...still looking for the Pork Belly!! However the mackerel pate and risotto were great. Will definitely give Le Mistral Nottingham another go very soon.

Wow! I visited this restaurant for the first time and had heard mixed reviews. I will definately be visiting again and recommending it. The food was beautiful, the surroundings whilst not being the biggest establishment was quaint and intimate. The waiter was polite and very helpful and left just the right amount of time to not feel rushed but not oo long so that we felt neglected. All specials and offers were presented well. 11 out of 10 for me. I couldn't have had a better evening and can't wait to sample some more of their delicacies!!
Louise Warren – 20/02/2011
The service was 150% with a wonderfully personable waiter.
The food was exceptional. Everyone in our part enjoyed their meals. 4 of our party had never been here before and all said they would go back! Was really please my request for the back table was granted... thank you for a lovely evening!

I would certainly recommend this venue - not only for a place to go for Christmas lunch but it is also a good place to meet if you enjoy meeting friends for a long girlie lunch.

We chose Le Mistral for a birthday meal after reading several good reviews - we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the waiting staff were both very knowledgable about each dish on offer. We were served quickly after ordering although this may seem too quickly if you like to linger over a good meal! All in all we had a lovely evening at a very reasonably priced restaurant.

Fantastic location on a summer's evening with the windows open onto the courtyard. Good food, good wine and a pleasant atmosphere.
