Once again lovely meal thank you. Cant fault it.

  • Angela Blood

Unreasonably slow service hence only two stars. 3/4 hour before starter came and this was a set menu. Waitress not familiar with ice cream choices and never came back to us after checking, when reminded another waiter came to impart information. Our bill was correct but couple on next table were charged for an extra meal. First time I have been so disappointed. Food was acceptable but roast potatoes actually scorched your mouth whereas the vegetables were lukewarm for everyone. Unfortunately, will not be coming back soon which is a pity and it was my dining companion's first time and she was not impressed.

  • Sandra Pask

Nice intimate restaurant. First visit and pleased to have found Le Mistral. Three of us had linguine provincel which was served nice and hot and good very tasty portions. We will definitely return as also handy for shops and theatre.

  • Elizabeth Nunley

  • Karen Norwood

    Good meal at reasonable price.

  • David Mills

A very enjoyable meal, really enjoyed the food, wine and the venue. More of a gap required between servings was the only negative.

A very good meal with good choice of menu at Le Mistral in Notts.

  • Jackie Duke

As usual we had a lovely meal.

  • Gabrielle Hall

We had lunch here in this pleasant hidden-away building going for the set price meal. It was ok but I prefer other places on the basis of the cooking which I thought was ordinary.

  • Jennifer Dumbleton

Visited here for a work night out, and had a lovely time, although it was a little quiet. Good wine list.

  • Steve Clayton

We went for lunch and were very impressed with both the variety of dished and the portion size of the daytime menu. We all left feeling full and very satisfied.

The only slight negative was that by the end of our meal the restaurant seemed to be down to one waiter. We were therefore waiting quite a while to be able to pay before rushing somewhat to get back to work.

  • Vanessa Brooks

We had an enjoyable meal. Service was good. Nice choice of food!

  • Diane Din

Lovely restaurant, small, personal, very nice interior, set out of the way in city centre. Was a little disappointed with the duck being dry, over cooked near the skin. Staff waiting to close made it a little obvious. Nice choice on menu. Will have something different next time.

  • Tanya Allison

Very pleased, the service was quick & the staff very polite & helpful. The price was very reasonable & we will be returning!

  • Andrew Wayman

We have discovered a little gem in the centre, we will be returning. Good food, good wine, good service, good location.

  • David Hughes

Tasty if unremarkable food in nice surroundings with good service and a very reasonable price.

  • Sara Hurst

The food was delicious and just the right sized portions. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxing. Will definitely return to Loch Fyne in Nottingham soon.

  • Nikki Andrzejewski

Lovely restaurant. Excellent value for money, great service and ambience at Le Mistral in Nottingham. We visited during the day and would like to try the restaurant in the evening.

  • Chris Wilson

Always a delight, I love this place. The wine is great, the food is amazing, the staff are excellent. Essential evening and lunch time eating if in Notts.

  • Ian Sandey

This meal was not up to the Le Mistral's usual standards, we felt rushed with the first 2 courses. The sword fish steak was raw & the chips on the other meal were just blanched & not crisp. We were seated upstairs, where there was only one other couple, so know atmosphere. We have been here many times so know what sort of standard to expect, this was sadly lacking.

  • Ian Sandey

    a really excellent meal

  • James Wright

Great food, service and value. Something for everyone and very good value. Also will put a candle in your pudding if it's your birthday!

An excellent meal, great staff/service/atmosphere well worth a visit.

  • Louise Warren

Food was fantastic. Had to send to meals back as they were cold but this was rectified straight away.

Service was poor. I was asked to pay a deposit and pre-order food as the party was over 10. I have never been asked for this before and it was an inconvenience to me to have to contact everyone to arrange. Two in the party didn't pre-order and when I arrived, rather than be greeted and a drinks order taken the waitress was waiting for the remaining food order. When I asked her to take a drinks order she advised that she would process the food orders and then take drinks orders so for the second visit in a row we were seated and it took just over 30 minutes for everyone to recieve a drink.

In hindsight, I can't see the point of the pre-ordering as we still waited almost 50 minutes for any food to arrive.

All of my party had a complaint about the waitress. They felt that everything was an effort for her. What upset me most was the bill that she gave me. It said that service charge was NOT included but when my husband questioned a £38 item, she advised "I knew you would question that, it's a service charge." This was removed when asked and a tip left for the chef instead.

My husband and I come in regulary and always go with a big party each year for my birthday but after the last two visits we've decided not to go again. It's a shame because I love the place and the food is wonderful.

Always have a lovely time when we go here. Last night the food was amazing as usual however it was cold (sitting upstairs) and the service was slow to start. 20 mins before a drinks order was taken but once the drinks were in and the food ordered the service was fine. I know they were busy though.

  • Ian Sandey

As usual a great dining experience, good food, good atmosphere. Although we felt that the main course came to quickly after the starters.

  • Chris Wilson

Fantastic place, great atmosphere and fantastic food. A little bit intimate and more on the expensive side but worth every penny.

  • Ian Sandey

A really good night was had by all of our party with excellent food and really good service.

  • Elizabeth Parkinson

  • Holmes Colin

  • James Wright

Excellent value food and really great service. We were a large group (and even added 1 extra at late notice, which they took in their stride), but the food came quickly, drinks were refreshed and the service was second to none. Can't recommend enough.

  • Christine Temple

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Food was fresh, hot and plenteful. Service was efficient and friendly, very welcoming. Will recommend to friends and definitely return. Thankyou Le Mistral

  • Mary Burton

Fab place tucked away in the centre of town.

  • Ian Cairney

    Had a really enjoyable time.

  • Ian Sandey

Having been to Le Mistral several times, we were a bit disapointed with the service received, however the manageress took our complaints seriously and the overall result was good. Main course was excellent.

  • Louise Warren

Food is always lovely, always good value and staff always attentive.

  • Louise Warren

    Always enjoyable.

  • Nadia Kirilova

The atmosphere was good, food was very nice, home-cooked and delicious. The cheeseboard was a little too small for my liking and with no fruit but all-in-all, it was a nice meal. We went on the £26 wine and dine offer, so the wine that we got was the house red wine which is not fantastic but was good value for money. We will definitely go back.

  • Rachel Coles

    Excellent - recommend!

The restaurant was very busy for a lunchtime and we could see why. The £8.90 two course menu was superb value for money - very well presented, tasty and fresh. The waitress service was friendly and efficient and there was a nice relaxed vibe in the restaurant. Will definitely return.

  • Joan Middleton

Food and service was second to none. Staff were prompt and efficient and also friendly. Excellent venue.

  • Janet Baker

This restaurant has a very relaxed ambience. The food is delicious and although we usually stick to the same kind of wine we decided to go with the waiter's recommendation and it was wonderful. Will certainly return.

  • Gemma Rollo

It has a lovely intimate setting and the food was great. The only problem is that they tend to run out of particular dishes. Both times I have visited this restaurant, I have had to go for my second choice of main.

  • Linda Abbott

Food was lovely - Le Mistral is a quiet little restaurant right in the heart of town.

  • Lisa Fretwell

Super ambiance and the service was excellent. A little disappointed with the Pork Belly gnocchi...still looking for the Pork Belly!! However the mackerel pate and risotto were great. Will definitely give Le Mistral Nottingham another go very soon.

  • Louise Warren

Had a lovely meal with my Dad. He'd not been before and he loved it. Great food and service. Lovely ambience. As always, I'll be back.

  • Richard Short

  • Sarah Kisiel

Wow! I visited this restaurant for the first time and had heard mixed reviews. I will definately be visiting again and recommending it. The food was beautiful, the surroundings whilst not being the biggest establishment was quaint and intimate. The waiter was polite and very helpful and left just the right amount of time to not feel rushed but not oo long so that we felt neglected. All specials and offers were presented well. 11 out of 10 for me. I couldn't have had a better evening and can't wait to sample some more of their delicacies!!

  • Louise Warren

The service was 150% with a wonderfully personable waiter.
The food was exceptional. Everyone in our part enjoyed their meals. 4 of our party had never been here before and all said they would go back! Was really please my request for the back table was granted... thank you for a lovely evening!

  • Louise Warren

Been may times before but last time was the best!! Everything was perfect!

I would certainly recommend this venue - not only for a place to go for Christmas lunch but it is also a good place to meet if you enjoy meeting friends for a long girlie lunch.

  • Robert Capps

  • Nikki Velinsky

The food was delicious and well presented. It is very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. really enjoyed our meal here.

  • Lisa Smith

We chose Le Mistral for a birthday meal after reading several good reviews - we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the waiting staff were both very knowledgable about each dish on offer. We were served quickly after ordering although this may seem too quickly if you like to linger over a good meal! All in all we had a lovely evening at a very reasonably priced restaurant.

We say…

Le Mistral in Nottingham city centre is a French style café, wine bar and bistro that offers locals and visitors alike relaxed dining, all day long. In a prime location in Eldon Chambers, just down the road from Burton at the market square, next to Specsavers and where HMV used to be, Le Mistral is perfect for every occasion from a lunch time break from shopping, a pre-theatre bite to eat, an intimate table for two or a gathering of friends and family.

Following their success with the Sherwood and Wirksworth Mistrals, the Nottingham city centre branch shares the same cosmopolitan yet friendly atmosphere. Stepping into Le Mistral is like being transported across the Channel and right into an authentic Parisian bistro. The restaurant comes complete with exposed brickwork, fabrics with vintage patterns, French memorabilia adorning the walls and mismatched tables and chairs. The lighting is low and the effect is intimate, cosy and welcoming.

The motto at Le Mistral is ‘slow food in a fast world,’ which is reflected in their approach to their cuisine: good quality food prepared and cooked from fresh using only the very best ingredients, many of which are sourced directly from the Rungis Market in Paris. Diners can expect to find contemporary twists on French classics such as moules marinière and baked camembert. You will find the mains as equally mouth-watering with dishes such as beautiful beef bourguignon, salmon fillet with a pesto crust, and hearty sausage of the day and mash. There is a limited menu for vegetarians that, whilst small, is delicious. Alongside the menu you will find wine recommendations for each dish which allow you to expertly match you fine French wines perfectly to your meal, Bon Appetite!

Alongside the menu there is an extensive wine list, with many of the wines being sourced directly from French cellars, as well as authentic French lagers and a selection of decadent yet affordable champagnes.

Le Mistral in Nottingham city centre is ideal for turning any occasion in to a special one and you can rest assured that you will leave feeling relaxed, full and looking forwards to your next visit.
