Situated in the heart of the beautiful and historic market town of Bakewell, Le Mistral is the latest addition to the well-known French family of 4 award winning restaurant bistros. Wirksworth picked up the Derbyshire International restaurant of the year 2009 award and there is sure to be in-house competition for the accolade in years to come.

Le Mistral Bakewell is all about relaxed French bistro style dining with an emphasis on friendly and welcoming service and very reasonably priced French cuisine and wines. ‘A great place to relax and slow down’, the restaurant interior is mood lit with candles making it an ideal place to meet with loved ones or perhaps to start a new romance. The food menu is a true French affair with classics such as Moules et frites, Boeuf Bourgignon or perhaps our favourite Le Grand fete; a perfect sharing platter with the Assiette de charcuterie, Fromage and a selection of breads and dips. Alongside each of the classic dishes on the menu are recommendations matching their selection of 20 wines by the glass to create the ideal meal.

Sunday evening - very quiet ,warm cosy atmosphere. Prompt service- very polite and attentive but not hovering over you. Food was excellent! Fit to burst after starter and main meal. Excellent value. Would absolutely recommend friends and family to dine here. Lovely to have a relaxed restaurant in Bakewell that offers high standards at an affordable price in a relaxed atmosphere! Hope to see you soon.
