Winner of the Nottingham Restaurant Awards ‘Restaurant of the Year’ in 2009, Hart’s is an exceptional restaurant and four star Boutique Hotel that stands out as a landmark on Nottingham’s extensive dining map. Located on Park Row, close to the Nottingham Playhouse and just off The Ropewalk, Harts is ideal for a pre-theatre bite to eat or simply just to enjoy a meal away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
The restaurant is a sophisticated affair that offers relaxed fine dining at its very best. The neutral colour palette used throughout creates a mellow ambience and the co-ordinating chairs and booth seating really ties the whole look together. Crisp white table linen and quirky pieces of artwork fashioned around the Hart’s logo adorn the walls and add warmth the dining room.
Renowned for offering an extensive and delicious lunch menu that offers remarkable flavour and attention to detail within the constraints of a lunch hour that has won them the ‘Best Business Lunch’ award for six consecutive years. Using the best locally sourced produce to create an ever-changing menu, you can expect, when seasonally available, to enjoy dishes such as roast loin of fallow venison potato terrine, celeriac puree, golden beetroot, sprouts and a venison jus; fillet of British beef, cep mushroom risotto, chargrilled baby leek and sage sauce; and roast whole turbot with dill new potatoes, spinach and hollandaise sauce. Dining at Hart’s is a real treat and would be the perfect setting for everything from a top class business lunch to a romantic meal for two or a pre-theatre bite to eat or a special occasion.
Hart’s restaurant in Nottingham provides an extraordinary level of skilled service combined with modern British cuisine. Whether it’s quick bite for lunch or a lingering intimate dining affair you desire, Hart’s provide the ideal venue. With a decor consisting of clean lines and bathed in accent colours, the restaurant is famed for its chic, contemporary and relaxing atmosphere.

I had a great time at Harts - never been before and really enjoyed the food. I will be taking my wife back there again!

Had been looking for a reason to book a table here for a long time, but it wasn't really worth the wait. The food was mostly OK however there were some odd combinations in some dishes that really didn't work well. This wouldn't have been so bad if the food was less expensive but Harts is not a cheap place to eat! Despite the number of staff most seemed to be wearing blinkers, requiring a concerted effort to garner their attention. At the end of the meal we were brought another tables' bill which took a while to resolve. The place was lively enough and pretty full which was a shame as there only appeared to be one toilet... In short, if you want a better experience fore the same cost I'd recommend Merchants, World Service or even Tonic.

I felt the staff were very pushy with the wine - from the minute we sat down they were asking us what we wanted, throughout the meal they kept topping up our glasses, even if they were not empty and when out bottle ran out the were trying to sell us more - maybe they are on commission but I found it irritating. Also i didn't appreciate the 12% discretionery service charge being added to the bill - I normally tip 10% in cash as I like to be sure that the staff are getting my tip. 12% was slightly more and paid straight to the organisation (extra profit for the owners?) But i did not wish to make an issue of this at the end of an otherwise pleasant evening.

The evening was a real mixed bag. The food was delicious; really interesting blend of tastes and textures. The service was not what I expect from Harts - the wine offered was not the wine we chose, the main meal arrived while we were eating our starters and the waiters over eager to top up our wine glasses.

Excellent relaxing night out, food sumptious. We would certainly recommend another visit to Harts.

I have been to Hart's twice before, and have never been disappointed. The service is always top notch, the restaurant is clean, contemporary, and very well looked after. I think the only aspect I was disappointed with was the fact that to fully enjoy Hart's it seems that you have to opt for the a la carte menu. The variety on that menu is great, and pre-theatre may have limited our experience of the restaurant and its food. Nonetheless, my pan fried fillet of whiting was great, and had a lovely and subtle caper and butter sauce which really complemented it well. My cheese board needed more neutral cheeses, but I understand that the point of the pre-theatre menu is to provide a quick meal before a big event on the night, and the point of a cheese board is to showcase local distinctive cheeses. Overall, a good experience and I would recommend it to anyone, but I would say that the best thing would be to go for a la carte!

Excellent meal - we sat at a nice table and the service was excellent as usual.
Darren Prowting – 02/08/2010
The food was superb and the staff ensured we were catered to quickly to enable us to mske our theatre reservation which had been requested. The evening was only dampened by an over exuberent group of students and where not asked by staff to be aware of other customers. Overall recommendedation.

Food and ambience were very good but we felt that the service was a little slow.

The service at this place could not be faulted. The food was good but the accompaniments described on the menu were different from what actually came out - spinach for beetroot puree - which I was a little disappointed about.

Incredible food and very attentive service. The restaurant has apparently won a lot of awards and on our experience I can see why.
Lleah O'Sullivan – 04/02/2010
We went to the restaurant for the deal of 3 courses for £25 but didnt realise this only appplied to a set menu because it wasnt made clear to us before going. Even though, we couldn't complain at the pre-set menu because the food on it was beautiful. For the main i had lamb which melted in my mouth and the starter and dessert were just as beautiful. The only problem is we did wait 20 minutes between our starter and main meal but it was definately worth the wait. The food was sublime and i would readily go again to try any other dish on the menu.

Excellent, attentive service which was really appreciated as we were 'fussy eaters'. They adapted things for our dietary requirements, with no hassle.
The food was yummy and so was the wine! Will definitely go again.
