The Grey Lady Restaurant is a beautiful haven set within the Leicestershire countryside roughly a twenty minute drive from Leicester city centre. It is nestled in the heart of Charnwood Forest and is set on three acres of land. The surroundings will make any visitor immediately feel at peace. The combination of a buzzy, fresh atmosphere coupled with the historical legacy and family heritage that envelopes the Grey Lady makes visiting a truly unique experience.

The restaurant itself has been through a fantastic amount of renovation and boasts a facelift of in excess of £1 million. The results are truly breath-taking and the dining room and lounge/bar area will provide a dining experience that you will talk about for weeks to come. There is also a beautiful al fresco dining and drinking area that overlooks the Forest, adding yet another dimension to the experience on offer.

The restaurant is perfectly set up to be able to accommodate every dining need from a formal dinner to an intimate, relaxing evening; a light bite with friends to drinks and nibbles in the bar. You are able to choose from immaculately conceived dishes such as Roast Saddle of Lamb and vegetarian options including Butternut Squash Done Four Ways and while dining, why not peer through the wine rack and watch the talented and skilful chefs work their magic.

Overall

I have been going to Grey for many years and I will continue to. Since the refurbishment it is even more stunning. The food, service, surroundings, everything is absolutely top notch. Being able to see in to the kitchen through the wall of wine is also a fantastic concept that me and my wife loved. I could recommend this place all day, every day to anyone that will listen. Definately worth the twenty minute drive.

Grey lady is a true classy restaurant offering dishes on a fine menu such as three cuts of lamb, all of which were cooked to perfection. Each course managed to surpass the last and left me feeling bloated but extremely happy!! All this was matched by very helpful staff who didn’t intrude on the meal like some can do. Very good service which left me feeling looked after and cared for. Would recommend to others all day long.
