    Overall:

A Saturday night meal and only 2 other people eating. Only saw one girl who covered service and the bar but she was very pleasant. The combo starter was very nice but we felt it was overpriced. The steak was tasty but felt it unusual to have quite a bit of fat on a fillet. We did enjoy the meal and would return but we won't rush back

    Overall:

This restaurant is a fantastic find. The steaks are locally sourced and the nicest I have ever eaten and the pudding was just divine. The staff are very friendly, we were the last ones to leave that night but were not rushed at all. I will definitely be visiting again soon and would recommend this to all steak lovers.

    Overall:

Went here with my wife for the first time. In my quest to find a black pepper steak to equal the one that the now sadly closed Shing Do used to serve, I decided to try this place. To start We had the combo for 2 to share which was very nice, then I had the 16oz rump and my wife had the T bone both with sizzling black pepper sauce on a cast iron plate. The sauce, though was too runny and there ought to have been half a tomato and a mushroom on the plate (we had to order mushrooms as an extra) but it did come with peas. Although the sauce was very tasty it still wasn't any where near as good as the Shing Do's was. But all in all with a nice Shiraz the meal was excellent and would certainly go again.

    Overall:

I went to the Friar's Steak House on Valentine's night. I had heard lot's about the place, all good reports, so I was expecting a really excellent steak. The atmosphere was good and the service friendly but unfortunately both my wife and I thought the steak was very disappointing and very average. My wife had a rib-eye and I had sirloin - both were dry and lacked flavour. The rib-eye did not have the marbling of fat that you would normally expect from a good one. The dessert was also not good - it took some time to arrive and was still frozen in the middle. So overall the experience was not good.

    Overall:

This place is brilliant. It's quite small, unassuming from the front and probably not so easy to find unless you know about it. Menu around the lovely steak. They do a 32 oz rump for just over £20, and there's a blackboard up which has the current record (76oz) - you can order whatever size you want with 24+ hours notice! Had the 32 oz rump on a sizzling pepper sauce platter. Considering the size of it and the thickness, it was succulent, juicy and really well cooked. The chef knows how to cook a large steak. If you ever want a big plump juicy rump - this is the place to go...

Last night we had our first meal here,it definatley will not be the last, the steak was cooked perfectly,it was very tasty and juciy. The service was very good and attentive. The ambience seemed cold and to dark,it maybe romantic to others but like to see what im eating. Overall we had a lovely night and plan to go again very soon.

We went for the early bird two course menu which was great value. The 16oz rump steak was cooked to my liking. Found the staff very friendly. Ambience a bit stark, but will go back again that's for sure.

Food was very nice. Staff were pleasant. Little bit dissappointed with the decor etc, felt a little bit plain and more of a cafe bar than a restaurant. Would definitely go again but probably on a week night.
