Situated in the centre of Stamford near to the Stamford Shakespeare Open Air Theatre and the Stamford Arts Centre is the family run Fratelli Ristorante. Fratelli’s offers authentic Italian cuisine in truly breath-taking surroundings.

The building that Fratelli’s resides in is truly unique and takes you a million miles from the commercial Italian restaurants. The building dates back to the 12^th century and is split over 2 levels which is ideal for couples looking for a romantic meal or larger parties looking for a venue to celebrate in. There is a wonderfully atmospheric basement that has an elegant arched ceiling that has been enhanced with coloured lighting and is the ideal setting for a special occasion.

Fratelli’s pride themselves on their restaurant and providing a service that is as good as the surroundings and the menu also reflects their desire to excel in every element. On the menu you will find beautiful Antipasti dishes such as the Insalata Caprese of beef and sun-dried tomato, buffalo mozzerella and fresh basil and the Insalata di Pera, a beautiful poached pear, pecorino cheese and walnut salad tossed in a honey and olive oil dressing. As you would expect there is a fantastic range of authentic Italian pizzas all with a tomato and mozzarella base and topped with a variety of fresh ingredients and pasta dishes.

You will not truly appreciate the beauty of this restaurant until you visit it and once you do, you’ll be going back again and again.

Overall

We went here after changing our plans at the last minute. Even though it was a Saturday they found a table for us and we were seated promptly. The food was lovely, with a varied menu. So glad we stumbled across this place. I highly recommend you visit if you're ever in Stamford.
