Fischer’s Baslow Hall is located just twenty minutes outside Chesterfield and ten minutes outside Bakewell, on the edge of the Peak District. The restaurant provides Michelin-starred, modern British cuisine in traditional and breath-taking surroundings. Once visited by the Hairy Bikers for a local produce challenge, (won convincingly by Fischer's), you will soon realise why it has such a reputation for its combination of comfort and gastronomy.
Max and his Head Chef Rupert Rowley have gathered quite a collection of accolades for their inventive culinary creations and pride themselves on using fresh, seasonal ingredients. The kitchens benefit from a Kitchen Garden that is nurtured to provide the vegetables, herbs and leaves featured in the dishes and most other ingredients are locally sourced, from the cheese that Sous Chef James Burgess handpicks each week to the weekly delivery of local mushrooms and the sweets from Pollard’s in Sheffield.
The care and attention put into the ingredients shines through in the flavours of the dishes themselves. On the menu you will find beautiful main courses that celebrate the land such as Derbyshire Spring Lamb, Chatsworth Venison and Wilde Hare. For those on a tighter budget you can still enjoy the taste of Fischer’s on the ‘Menu de Jour’.
Fischer’s is the ideal venue for a special occasion and for larger parties they have private hire function rooms available.
