Situated on King Street in the centre of Leeds, Ego Restaurant is a recent addition to Leeds’ lively restaurant scene and is a welcoming and friendly venue that provides a haven from the hustle and bustle of modern city life. Rob, the restaurant manager, is an experienced team leader and knows a thing or two about hosting the perfect evening or business lunch for you and your fellow diners.
Just as the millions of people who live throughout the Mediterranean already know, Ego believes it’s important to make time to enjoy a good meal with family and friends. They bring that Mediterranean appreciation of family and food to their restaurant, so here you can enjoy a meal the way you would abroad, without the hassle of travel.
The food on offer at Ego is lovingly created in the open kitchen and for the quality is very reasonably priced. Starters include Sicilian Arancini, (v), breaded mozzarella and spring onion risotto balls served with a warm Neapolitian Sauce, or our favourite Gambas al Pil Pil, Prawns sautéed with Garlic, chilli & parsley served with tomato rubbed bread. There are a range of pizzas that start at £7.95 for an entry level Margherita, with one of the stars of the show Quattro Stagione, Italian Ham, mushrooms, mozzarella, olives and artichokes at only £9.95.
The classic main dishes are where Ego comes into its own with a good wide choice from Prawn and chili Linguine, Moroccan Lamb Tajine or the perfect Andalucian Pork Fillet, wrapped in Parma ham and served with apricot and sherry sauce. For dessert there is an excellent choice with a wide range of dishes from every corner of the Mediterranean. Tarte au citron, White Chocolate and Orange Panna Cotta or the impressive Dessert Sharing Plate featuring Vanilla crème brulee, tiramisu, vanilla cheesecake and warm chocolate brownie with fresh fruit and chocolate ice cream.
Ego is an excellent restaurant with pleasant surroundings, book online for text confirmation.
